We've know for a while they wouldn't come at the same time, which is a shame and compromises the new look just like keeping Oneness for six months did.
Even if there are no titles they could easily just ditch the few seconds of the Lambie Nairn animation that remains in favour of using different shots of Broadcasting House and the studio. Indeed I guess they will have to change the pan across the newsroom now they've moved downstairs.

I’m not entirely sure where CleanFeed get their info from but Reporting Scotland won’t get a new set until the start of 2023. A major refit of Studio C will start in November - including STC gallery, the studio floor and the NCR gallery. It’s not a small update.
I think I know what the “feature from the newsroom” is but can’t say I’m sorry. Sounds cool though.
The view from each of the regional studios sounds a bit of a gimmick and will look odd if you’re watching on BBC News - unless they also do a live shot of Studio E like they used to on Breakfast years ago. According to CleanFeed BBC Newsline gets a new set in early autumn. I think the set is ok the way it is. They seem to have scrapped the green screen for the weather.

My general rule with news relaunches is that about half of the new 'features' or presentation styles that are announced before launch never appear and about half of those that do are ditched within a matter of weeks. I mean, how many times has the BBC News channel gone 'into the newsroom' since their first week at NBH.

What will the 'view from the regions' actually consist of? Will it be right at the tail end of the bulletin? A big multi-screen grid showing all the regional presenters looking into camera, waiting for their cue? It sounds interesting but I'm having a hard time picturing what it will look like!
Also, this feature from the newsroom... Are we talking about a design feature of the set itself, rather than something technical? |
