Yes, some logic in that but adds to the feeling they put the effort in around Strictly but not the rest of the years, especially as I suspect Michael McIntrye's Big Show will return midway through Strictly. Of course we've the disruption of the World Cup in Nov/Dec too so suspect a (repeat) gameshow line up will fill the matchfree Saturday nights - on both sides actually. Actually the BBC would probably be better off beginning with The Wheel during Strictly, which can switch to repeats during the World Cup, then bring back Big Show the week before Christmas as the World Cup wraps up, with it then running through January.

Considering we have a lot of weekends taken up by the World Cup towards the end of the year, both BBC One and ITV seem a little stacked with content that we’re expecting to air this year.
Blankety Blank, I Can See Your Voice, Weakest Link, The Hit List, The Wheel, Big Show all on BBC One.
(They’ve said the Wheel will return this year, press release didn’t say specifics for Big Show)
The Voice, Masked Dancer, Ninja Warrior, Epic Gameshow, Celeb Chase, Family Fortunes, Millionaire, Sitting on a Fortune for ITV.
ITV could do a week of Millionaire I guess, Celeb Chase could be a Sunday show. But BBC One especially have been pretty poor all year. They can’t just pull out all the stops for Strictly season!?

Masked Dancer must surely be destined for Autumn now - I thought it might run Saturday nights in June/July once BGT is finished but it's still filming in June. Hope they're not dumb enough to schedule it against Strictly in the Autumn - only option they're leaving themselves really is to strip it across a week again.
BBC1 kind of has such a solid but boring line up of quizzes it wouldn't take much to lift their Saturday schedule - they just need something that feels like a flagship show alongside all the supporting shows rather than back to back shows which feel like filler. The trouble is I don't think they're willing to schedule against The Masked Dancer or certainly Ant and Dec so just write it off. It would be nice to see a game show rather than quiz show added to the mix - something which is a bit more than a variation on answering questions. They were piloting a Friends Like These revival with Alison Hammond (and someone else who I forget) - not sure if it's been commissioned though.

Stripping it across a week would definitely be a better option, IMO.

Will be nice to see the two McIntyre shows back on BBC but not sure if they’ve filmed the new series yet

Vernon Kay, I think?

I agree, kind of surprised they’re not planning this. Dancer just doesn’t feel strong enough to keep the momentum up for weeks. October half term might work well

I honestly thought that was early 2022, so not due back till next year - but yes! It ran Saturday while Gary Lineker was on Sunday?
Hopefully it’s had a format tweak because it got very boring very quickly!

I noticed the That's TV channel was screening Through the Keyhole tonight, the Yorkshire TV produced series, before Keith Lemon ruined it. I thought it was an inspired choice. I wonder if they'll be showing any other gameshows Challenge would never think of showing??

The 1% club really needs to make the graphics containing the questions bigger for the next series. They seem a bit bigger than last week but still not the easiest to read.

It has been aired on Challenge, though not since the decade before last apparently. According to the big table on Wiki it was last seen in 2009, and had been on the network since the early days of it being The Family Channel.
That's TV clearly thinks there's a market for this archive material, though experience on other networks suggests once the initial interest fades the ratings fade with it. Well, that's their call.
Jason Manford’s First and Last is finished according to his twitter

Wonder if his other show Unbeatable will return?

Unbeatable and The Tournament were OK quiz shows but I think Bridge of Lies is the best BBC One daytime effort in quite some time! Hopefully that gets renewed.
