Didn't she get an on-screen farewell though - very brief but I'm sure it was announced on air it was her last show in the last few minutes of the show.

I think generally speaking presenters seem to stick around much longer now, perhaps having learned from those who previously moved on from a hit after 2-3 years and basically seen their career go downhill from that point forward.
Also feels like there are less opportunities within the traditional TV environment at least to break through with new shows. C4 for example used to have presented shows in the 6pm hour, in primetime, in late night, at the weekend, but now outside of factual formats and the odd quiz show I can only think of The Last Leg (a decade old), The Lateish Show and that TV show that was on last year in terms of presenter led TV shows (rather than formats). So it's probably one new format a year compared to previously around one a month, and that's the same across all channels too.

It had to accomodate 10:00 onwards, hence the narrower font. Nice to see a clip with the yellow fly-in titles too - they're not as easy to find as the version with the brick house facade.

A great find! Was this summer 1998?
Josie was always fantastic on the Bigger Breakfast (along with everything that she’s done imo), and over the holidays following the Bigger Breakfast became a much bigger show in it’s own right, especially when they had their own set on the landing. Her partnership with Dermot especially worked well.

Just a random thing they'd do from time to time. Something more unusual in that is a voiced sports report within the news bulletin - I don't remember anything other than Phil (or the newsreader of the time) voicing all VTs within the bulletin.
Have no memory of the "Spud you Look a Like" competition either.
And is that Stefan Raab as the German Eurovision guest?

It is indeed Stefan Raab. And could explain why there are elements of TBB on his semi long running chat show TV Total. Loud coloured set, host occasionally fooling around with the guests, audience participation.

As an aside, I watched An Audience with Bob Monkhouse on YouTube a few days ago. If my memory serves, it was from the early 90’s.
During it, Gaby Roslin asked him one of the questions from the audience, which in this case, was a reference to their working together to present The Big Breakfast together.
For how long did they present the show together? I have literally no recollection of that at all.
