A rare outing for Panorama on BBC Two tonight. They've been trailing it loads in bulletins, so it doesn't feel like they've been trying to hide it - I can only assume there's too much other new stuff in primetime this week that they've got nowhere else to put it.

(If anyone's interested, the only other occasions I've been able to find on the Programme Catalogue appear to have been in 2014 during the World Cup and 2012 during the Olympics)

A rare outing for Panorama on BBC Two tonight. They've been trailing it loads in bulletins, so it doesn't feel like they've been trying to hide it - I can only assume there's too much other new stuff in primetime this week that they've got nowhere else to put it.

(If anyone's interested, the only other occasions I've been able to find on the Programme Catalogue appear to have been in 2014 during the World Cup and 2012 during the Olympics)

I think it’s more that the panorama Monday slot was taken up yesterday and it’s a full hour long so wouldn’t fit in a shorter slot on one

I imagine that the BBC had to wait until the police investigation was concluded but wanted to get the programme out before the Sue Gray report was published. I dare say had there not been a Women's Hour special interview with Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe on BBC One before Panorama then they might have been able to fit it in on Monday.

As a side note was the interview with Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe one of the first example of BBC programmes 'new way of working', sharing exclusives across multiple outlets, rather than being kept to just the Radio 4 broadcast? I vaguely recall there being some announcement along these lines some months ago.

If that was the case surely they've had found the time to edit it instead of letting it air as it did. In particular Laura K refers to up coming local elections which we all happened weeks ago.
