I do think it's a pity that, for so many people, everything now boils down to immutable characteristics.

I am happy for the chap who got the part, personally. Couldn't give a shit what colour his skin is, who he sleeps with, and so on and so on. Hope he plays an absolute blinder. Go on, Ncuti :-)

Agreed. I didn't mind when they cast a woman, and I don't mind that they cast a black guy. The important thing is that they can act. Russell T Davies knows what he's doing.

If people can't accept the fact the Doctor is no longer a white man, they're not true fans of the show.
