2.20 overnight ratings. An all time low for the programme as far as live viewing goes.

The episode was fairly decent, but lacked substance with the historical characters and you could tell corners were cut in the editing. The Doctor and Yaz's relationship barely built up to anything substantial and the pay-off was not just an expected one, but painfully tedious.

I did enjoy the Sea Devils though, Chibs even on his worst day is really good at the classic villains.

It has been rumoured that the episode was originally 58 minutes but ended up needing to be edited down to 48 minutes at the request of the BBC. On top of it being written in only 3 days due to the BBC ordering an extra episode at the last minute. I haven't been the greatest fan of Chibnall's era but if true it's difficult to see how anything could flourish within such parameters.

Well, it's not been a Christmas special for several years now. Airing on New Years Day after the Christmas idents have been packed away and replaced with the standard ones! So I used a vaguer term.

It was already confirmed in the press release announcing the return of RTD that his first episode back (and presumably that of the 14th Doctor) will be the 60th anniversary in November 2023... which means a gap of 13 months after the BBC Centenary Special

In fairness, it didn't have much competition, as ITV was off air due to industrial action!

Not exactly - they rewrote a script by David Fisher which already had most of the final elements in place over a weekend.

It’s actually a similar shade of blue to that used in the logo for the first two Matt Smith years, that logo also used a TARDIS representation within it, so it kind of fits.

BBC Studioworks has assumed the selling of four sound stages at BBC Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff, effective immediately

The move forms part of the company’s pan-UK expansion strategy and accelerates its experience and expertise in the sound stage market, having operated George Lucas Stage Two at its Elstree Studios facility for the past nine years.

The high-end, purpose-built stages, previously used for Doctor Who, range from 5,101 sq. ft-12, 318 sq. ft and are surrounded by ample ancillary areas to suit a wide range of requirements. These include 4,535 sq. ft of production office space, set and prop storage, wardrobe and hair and make-up rooms.
