Launch TalkTV

My first reaction was 'What has Sharon done to her lips?!'
Talk TV has put so much effort into looking like a US channel, it actually loses some of its alleged purpose in trying to reflect Britain. This channel is a weird brew and will just merge into all the niche news channels like NBC NewsNow/ Euronews

However - it doesn't seem very friendly and personable, when compared with GB News, in my opinion.

It's Piers Morgan, friendly is the last thing they're aiming for.

Tom Newton Dunn didn't seem that friendly either, to be honest.  Very generic.  Very predictable.  GB News often raises a smile, TalkTV takes itself too seriously.  Despite this, it was good to see contrasting styles of presenting & production.

That 9pm update seemed too short though.

That's what they've been like on the TV version of TalkRadio the last year or so  (the radio wasn't simulcast and had their own bulletins).
Interesting to see that Mrs O is just the panellist on her own show. Jezzer doing everything else.
Despite the awful green screen on The Talk, I think TalkTV can be relieved that they didn't have the major issues that GB News had on their first night, nor the pressure from left-leaning activists to stop advertisers buying airtime.

The real test is going to be if they can gain an audience higher than GB News and will that audience want a diet of culture wars debate from a radio station during the day?

They need half an hour to ship his ego in and out of the studio.

Like The Five, another member of the panel is now taking the lead coming out of the break.
Surprised to see Nicola Thorp sell out to Fox News UK.

The Talk is actually pretty decent, much more easy to watch than Piers Morgan

Like The Five, they have a liberal panellist.
The 7pm hour was the stand out. Piers & this show are really low tier, actually probably as bad if not worst than GB News, just in a more colourful wrapper.
Gives downtime to do engineering etc. - one assumes.

Also a get out jail card if anything went horribly wrong in the first hour.
From a diversity point of view, they've got two BAME panellists and three of them are women, the only middle aged man is Jeremy Kyle.
I noticed Piers was credited as a "Wake Up TV production" - is it an indie therefore?
