Where in Kyiv are international reporters broadcasting from? Seems like the same balcony on Sky and ITV at least.

For obvious reasons it's probably best that information isn't disclosed.

It took me about a minute to find the BBC's hotel in Kyiv this evening. It's not difficult to work it out all the time they are using scenic backdrops!

RT's presence on linear TV is making it very likely that it will become an online only channel for the rest of 2022 and beyond. It's rampant misinformation during the crisis in Ukraine is not appropriate for regulators to have it get full clearance for broadcast.

If Ofcom have got the official instructions from Boris Johnson to get them to review the news coverage of the Ukraine crisis for the UK population. It will give them a lot more damage in having a presence on linear TV.

I will have a feeling that if these mandatory reviews by broadcasting regulators are coming in from governments in other countries. It will become Inevitable that RT will be in severe trouble If their reporting of this crisis in Ukraine does not end soon when it's coming from the Kremlin. And I don't watch RT's channel because it's content is not relevant to me. And frankly most of the content on it should not be fit for broadcasting purposes.

I think there is some feeling that the BBC continuing to broadcast in Russia might be more important than stopping RT broadcasting to a small audience in the UK, so in the context of the wider propaganda war this may not be a battle worse pursuing too actively.

It would be pointless. RT content is online also, as are many other Russian propaganda YouTube channels happily getting ad revenue from western companies. Russian insight being one of the most blatant. I dob't actually know if Ofcom can doing anything about online content (YET!)

German-language RT is blocked on YouTube* in Germany; I don't know if it's available there from another website.

I would agree that keeping RT on air here is an acceptable price for keeping a BBC presence in Russia.

I get the sense that things are moving fast and probably soon some big name presenters across networks are going to be woken up quickly into the newsrooms or Ukraine if they ain't. Feels like events are going to come to their head soon.

While watching Sky News covering the UN emergency meeting, there was a male presenter (possibly Mark Stone) out of vision and then Sam Naz popped up at 3.25am.

War is sadly underway. Al Jazeera is covering the emergency UN meeting, as it is Sky News. France 24 is on prerecorded programming. DW News is sticking with regular schedule. And all big three American networks and news/opinion channels are on Breaking News/Special Report mode.

Speaking of which… Fox “News” has received a call from Donald Trump on his stance on the war during Laura Ingraham. Such an incompetent network.

CNN's coverage has been incredible. And they are really flexing their war coverage muscle. We are seeing the old Don Lemon so far doing any amazing job that I remember him doing back in the day when they did straight news rather then the endless interviews. Ive been impressed with the live field reporting from the region. And the use of live cameras and the correspondents in front of their cameras continuously. I wont say which channels but Im hearing alot of "word-salads presenters", that are talking but not saying anything. CNN;s Matthew Chance quoting a government official was able to report that there were injuries. Not sure why the BBC insist on locking their cameras down. CNN's cameras were moving back and forth across the skyline so we, the viewers can see what was happening. Additionally instead of showing still images they used as screen mix of live shots and the guests in separate boxes so we can see whats happening. Seems like the old CNN....for now.

NBC News Now had broke into a brief NBC News Special Report with Tom LLamas at around 4:30am UK time about the situation in Ukraine. It lasted for about 5 minutes before it went back to the MSNBC simulcast on NBC News Now.

The US channel NewsNation has been doing coverage, they've even gone past their normal 11pmet stop time , with Prime anchor Marni Hughes and On Balance Host Leland Vittert . They are using AP reporters, since they don't have international reporters, due to how they are set up as a backed by local stations.

Euronews had live coverage from the live cam of Kyiv in Ukraine with No comment Live with no Euronews presenters at around 5am.

NBC News Now also had a bit of a messy broadcast within the last half an hour. There was another short interruption on NBC News Now with a brief Special report with Tom LLamas at 5:30am.

There was also some shots from a science fiction show being broadcast from SyFy cutting across the MSNBC news coverage of the Ukraine Crisis a few minutes ago. The show had played out some scenes from the show for about 30 seconds and froze towards the end on the channel.

It than cut back to Top Story with Tom LLamas for another fewseconds before going back to the MSNBC Simulcast on Ukraine.

Listening to RT and it is almost comical if it wasn't related to such a serious subject. Can't see it surviving in the UK! Although broadcast bans will do little to stop them in 2022.
