Talking of Hollywood logos, this poster on Reddit managed to catch the Universal logo as it passed over

Sorry for this being a double post but here are the bits from the end of that Charmed episode I spoke of.

Exhibit One is the original cap for the Spelling Television logo. The byline would eventually have the more common "A Paramount / Viacom Company" and on one occasion as seen on an actual television if memory recalls "A CBS Company" (when that 2005-ish restructure occurred) but cannot be too sure with which to be honest. But the one for 'Forever Charmed' (the last episode) has the 'Paramount / Viacom' one:


Exhibit Two is the Worldvision Enterprises logo, nothing of note to add but it mentions as it being at the time of the episodes making (around 1998) Worldvision was part of Spelling's company. I don't know to what extent but it is here:


Exhibit Three is the classic Paramount logo as used on television at the time. I cannot recall when it was updated to be more 3D-y / photorealistic or when it was withdrawn (it isn't there on 'Forever Charmed', certainly in the DVD print of it as it fades out on the Spelling Television logo) but that is all I can give:


As I said sorry for the double post, but I thought I would update with what I have found. Also if anyone can fill me in with any further info with regard to what I have posted that would be helpful as I probably have gaps in my own knowledge bank.

1. Spelling used the CBS byline from 2006 until it closed
2. Worldvision used the Spelling byline from when Spelling acquired it until closure (at the Viacom/Spelling merger)
3. The Paramount logo was updated in 2002 alongside the movie logo and withdrawn in 2006 (when CBS Paramount was formed)

The 2 Klasky Csupo logos (Graffti and Splaat) were seen on repeats of Rugrats on Nicktoons UK between 2018 and 2020.

The Graffti logo aired during late night (3am) repeats of Seasons 1 to 3 and Splaat was seen during Season 8 to 9 during daytime hours.

Also, the Braniff logo still be seen on late night editions of South Park on Comedy Central UK.

I'm pretty certain that the Braniff thing is a joke, it wasn't a production company they just used it as an endcap because they didn't have one. I know they were sued over it by the person with the rights to the Braniff name, and settled allowing them to use it.

Ah yes, I remember back when NickToons aired Rugrats. Also Amazon Prime uses the DVD prints of Charmed, with Worldvision kept.

Talking Pictures TV, as you may know, recently launched their streaming service, Talking Pictures TV Encore. So far, I've been finding a lot of Renown Pictures logos, but outside of Renown, I've found an Associated Artists Productions logo on the Popeye short "Ancient Fistory", and a Granada International logo on the movie "Power Play" (most other Rank films I saw on Encore either had just Rank or the 2013 ITV logo).

Anyways, to catch yous up:

I recently caught two TV Movies on the Irish Virgin channels with the 2009 ITV Global logo, those two being Crimes of Fashion: Killer Hair, and Mafia Doctor (aka Family Doctor). Was expecting Carlton America on the latter, so that was unexpected.

Recent episodes of Dr Quinn on TG4 have been ending with the 1995 20th Television logo instead of the usual 1995 CBS Broadcast International logo. I do know some episodes on CBS Drama used 20th Television tho.

Other than that, nothing too interesting logo wise.

Back to the 1995 CBSBI logo on Dr Quinn on TG4 as today's episode had that logo at the end.

Also checked today's Crazy Like a Fox on GREAT! TV as I had some time to spare, no Columbia TriStar on today's episode, went straight to the Sony logo.

Jeez, there's major blast from the past there.. Blockbuster Entertainment, which went out of business in 2010 thanks to DVD, the recession and whatever else - and now only exists as literally one store somewhere in America. Spelling Entertainment which ceased to exist in 2007 after the death of its founder and Worldvision Enterprises itself hasn't existed since 1999 when it was folded back into Paramount after Spelling Entertainment's merger with Viacom.

I'm pretty certain that the Braniff thing is a joke, it wasn't a production company they just used it as an endcap because they didn't have one. I know they were sued over it by the person with the rights to the Braniff name, and settled allowing them to use it.

They used it as the name of their production company and used a few seconds of an old Braniff advert for the production caption. It was renamed in the 2000's

Yorkshire logo intact on Virgin Media Three airing of S4 E1 of Heartbeat yesterday, was surprised to see it, as most Heartbeat episodes on this station have the 2013 ITV logo.



Also I really like to only post logos from TV airings here, but found the ultra rare prototype PolyGram logo at the beginning of a Peacock print of The Game (1997). I find it ironic how this logo is kept on most current prints, yet most other PolyGram films when aired don't have the final variant of this logo at all!

The ITV endcap thing is sometimes hit and miss depending on the age of the prints. There used to be a time where they were all over them like a rash hacking them off for anybody and everybody, then they stopped doing that, sometimes co-existing ITV Studios with an existing endcap, sometimes not...

Bit like Fremantle really, there's a few various of those endcaps - some have the musical sting, some don't. And there is little consistency.
