When it happens I highly doubt they'd use that waste of a closedown loop since they'll need to test BBC Three before its eventual relaunch

I don't think they ever commissioned for after 7pm - early evening content was limited to repeats IIRC.

There was the series Creeped Out, each episode of which debuted in a 7pm slot (though some episodes were subsequently repeated in earlier timeslots). Overall, though, the ending of the 7-9pm slot seems to be no great loss, and no doubt iPlayer will be heavily plugged as a replacement for CBBC viewers.

Not sure if is the effect of COVID or not but there is almost no new programming that week which is really quite poor. The only thing I noticed was Newsround, Blue Peter and Horrible Histories. In their primetime slot they have all of the programmes which are aimed at the younger audience (6-8 year olds might be able to find enjoyment out of Odd Squad and Andy and the Band, but I don’t really think 12 year olds will).

Around late 2020 - early 2021, they tried airing new programming for older audiences in the 7-9pm slot with shows like Mystic, The New Legends of Monkey, Dwight in Shining Armour and Heirs of the Night.
