Hopefully a V of Steel or Wigga Wigga, depending on what episode they're airing.

As someone who has also recorded Matlock for logo purposes, I can say that most episodes will have the Wigga-Wigga (several variations thereof), and only a few will have the V of Steel left intact.

Seen a few with the Wigga, several with the V of Steel (nearly every S4 episode had the V of Steel), and some had the CBSTD logo sprinkled in.

TCM re aired Wild Geese II today, and they're still using the same V of Steel print that they were airing when the film last aired in July. I get this film is kind of obscure, but I was expecting at least a more modern looking print than this to be used.

Also I'm thinking the videotaped V of Doom may appear on CBS Justice airings of Perry Mason but I believe every episode on there is remastered so that's a hard pass.

The Netflix logo is pretty nice.

I love the extended Ident, but
A) I don’t understand why it doesn’t preceded Netflix films when watching at home as I feel it sets the mood for a film more than a three second blip.
B) I find it strange that it doesn’t reveal the full Netflix name at the end considering it is used in cinemas.

I guess we’re at the stage now where the N logo is becoming as recognisable as things like the McDonalds M, the Nike tick or Apple’s apple, so maybe, similarly, doesn’t need the text anymore. Although that doesn’t explain why the TV version has the name, but the film one doesn’t.

It could well be that it becomes the norm on feature length Netflix content going forward. It's very new at the moment so it may just not have been rolled out. Though maybe it won't be - you could argue that whilst it does set the mood there isn't anything for Netflix to gain by putting it in front of anything on the app. It would only delay your getting to the content you want to watch, and they might feel it's better to just get their logo seen quickly then move you on. Can't risk the short attention spans of Generation Zs on sofas! :lol:

And as Spencer says, the 'N' logo is now synonymous with Netflix as a brand. The actual word 'Netflix' also technically and literally pushes against the fact that the content you're watching is on a big screen, so maybe it's a conscious decision around that. Whatever the reason, you know it will have gone through an endless hierarchy of people and signoff.

Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman is coming to TG4 (Ireland). Not sure how long it's been airing on there but definitely very recently. Recorded tomorrow's episode, hoping an MTM Enterprises/20th Television/CBS Broadcast International logo appears. It appears TG4 mainly use current prints of their programming, so I expect either CBSBI or maybe CBSTD to appear.

Dr Quinn episode I recorded had Sullivan Company and CBS Entertainment Productions. No MTM/20th/CBSBI although I’ve only checked one episode so far, maybe other episodes will be different.

Last night, I had a dream where Pepsi9072 (a popular logo finder and uploaded with nearly 100K subs) uploaded a B&W filmed V of Doom that his friend TheEriccorpinc (another logo finder, although he shut down his account back in October 2019) sent him, from a CBS Drama airing of a S2 Perry Mason episode. If I’m not mistaken the description of the video also said that the episode was the only one on CBS Drama that wasn’t remastered. In real life though, I HIGHLY doubt that will happen. CBS use the remastered prints of PM episodes and I doubt they’re airing any older Viacom prints of episodes. I still have the series on series record in case anything pops up.

Also, my laptop broke today so I won’t be able to show photos of my finds for now (ala Wetpaint CLG Wiki lol)

Found two intriguing stuff today:

An ABC Television Network slide on a Talking Pictures TV airing of a S3 One Step Beyond episode, and a Granada Entertainment logo on a Virgin Three (Irish channel) airing of Coyote Waits.

For the former, I was looking for the 1981 Worldvision logo, while for the latter, I was expecting the Carlton America logo.

Has anyone ever seen the Worldvision logo on Talking airings of OSB? Let me know if you did.

Not exactly obscure but I saw an old Yorkshire Television logo from the hearts era after a programme on ITV 3 about a month ago.

Not rare at all considering that logo should be on about two years of Emmerdale episodes as well as Heartbeat and A Touch of Frost.

I know this thread has been for discussing ones found on TV only but can I throw a DVD / Home Entertainment one in to the mix? The opening logo for CBS Home Entertainment that can be found many, many common CBS DVDs (NCIS (many versions) / Hawaii Five-0 / etc.). It has such a force of will and awesomeness that I'm surprised CBS relegated it to only one form of "outing", so to say.

Addendum: Anyone else think they should let the background hang instead of just fading to black? Just me then.

I think that might be from A Touch of Frost.

Speaking of home video logos, Monday at 11:05pm TalkingPicturesTV air Breakthrough (1979), which apparently uses the Worldvision Home Video logo, oddly enough. The CLG Wiki lists this sighting on the logo's page. Here's a photo my friend on Discord sent me. I'll try get a video capture in a few days.

Well the Worldvision Home Video logo is still kept. Strange how Talking haven't cut it out.

I'm pretty sure Talking Pictures runs from a garden shed somewhere and probably owns a lot of what it actually shows. (which would probably be home video prints) But that sort of material (particularly black & white archive film) is probably licenced for peanuts from the studios as there'll be next to be sod all demand for that.

ClosingLogo suggests that logo was around in the early 1990s (Worldvision hasn't existed since 1999, having since been folded into either CBS or Paramount) but a lot of archive material was reissued with that logo.

Well from what I seem to know off the top of my head. Worldvision was a part of my namesake Aaron Spelling's company, Spelling Television or Spelling Pictures I can't remember which to be honest, if I think rightly it certainly popped up when the original Charmed was on, as they used that WorldVision card on I believe Season One, although don't hold me to that will you. I'll have to get my Charmed box set out and see if I can do a Screen Shot from the DVD. Spelling had an affiliation with Paramount and then for those that know the lineage of the current ViacomCBS can trace the goings on themselves.

As an little interesting addendum. The byline that appeared below the "Spelling" logo started off as 01 and progressed as follows:
01: A Paramount Company
02: A Paramount / CBS Company
and finally by Season Eight
03: A CBS Company

Also it kind of helps that one of specialties of US television is knowing the crazy stew that is ViacomCBS.

P.S. Will screen shots from DVDs count or is that out of the remit of the thread?
