CBC News Network underwent a massive graphic update. Its a complete departure from the entire CBC News style. Im frankly confused as to why they went with this. I imagine and concur it reads better online and a mobile phone. But geez its a big messy. Its all over the place. Im still trying to wrap my head around everything they did and why they made the choices they made. Its frankly a head scratcher. The colours change with each daypart. So its no always orange. Its a very active screen. Its not like an seizure-inducing Indian news channel. But it moves alot.

Back on March 1 CP24 - Toronto's 24 hour news channel launched an all new 90 minute prime time news programme called CP24 TONIGHT. Its double-headed broadcast on their usual set but shot against the video walls instead of the famous window view. The first 10 minutes of the programme is jam-packed and fast paced. It features the usual CP24 breaking news and other stories. the backend features an indepth interview with relevant newsmakers. Interesting programme for CP24 than their normal "newsflow". I kinda like. Love the reworked theme and the nighttime street theme graphics.

It really sad that London cant muster a channel like this. The city is far larger, and important on a global scale. Thats why London Live seems like such a waste.

CHEK News at Six, Victoria, 1/6/2022. As mentioned
here, the local station has a new look, and their newscast got a facelift with new logo and blue lower-thirds.
Now on TVTalk, Pres Café and DeviantArt. Goodbye to all that, TVLF.

CBC Montreal News at 6 (CBMT-TV), 20/6/2022. They had a new set at the new Maison Radio-Canada, but only the opening received a facelift.
First pan of the new studio:

For comparison, the preceding opening in 2021, with a mismatch in branding:

CBC-RDI looks brilliant.
You can see the old brown building towering in the background.

That half-fade to the outside of a CBC building at the end of the titles looks like a mistake. At first I thought it was an accident but it's actually like that in both clips. Strange decision if that's the way it's supposed to be.
Big changes for CBC News. THE NATIONAL, the CBC's nightly newscast of record, has finally dropped their multiple hosts and named Adrienne Arsenault as lead anchor. Initially the re-tooled broadcast has 4 host presenting from across the coutnry. This was pared back to three. Andrew Chang and Ian Hanomansing and Adrienne Arsenault. This move makes all Canadian nightly newscasts presented by women. CBC, Global and and CTV. Go Canada!
Having said that. Adrienne will only present the Mon-Thr programme. Ian Hanomansing will present the Friday and Sunday broadcasts. Also CBC is creating a new free streaming news channel. Andrew Chang will get his own programme on the streaming network. Ian wiill have several shows he is working on including an interview programme. It will draw content from the national and local operations. Its unclear if this channel will be available outside Canada. Currently CBC News has a "jukebox" channel available on several streaming services in the US. There is nothing live apparently, it does have seem to present a full edition of THE NATIONAL week nights. But the rest is clipped together stories and interviews clips with a CBC full screen logo and a wipe.
