Think the graphics issue was with BBC Scotland, but there was an issue at the start, with Tim Willcox introducing it before staring at the screen for what felt like 15 seconds and then apologising. They then joined Sarah Smith late, but before the opening titles.
It was only the 5 biggest parties, so no Alba. Other small parties such as the Scottish Socialist Party (if they still exist) and Reform UK weren’t there either.
BTW I realise that this isn’t a local election...

Yes, watching on BBC News it looked like BBC Scotland were supering names etc, and then the BBC News channel was adding the usual story Gfx etc on top.
As you say the problems seemed to be at the BBC Scotland end.
The production was awful. From the choice of venue, going for a black background throughout, messing up of graphics, very long wide shot when Anas was giving his opening remark.

Yes I agree. I wondered if they had had to double up on some gallery roles due to Covid and as a result technical/creative production values really dropped.
Lots of it was terrible. The fire exit sign in the back of shot was particularly bad, as was the fact that almost every cut for the full hour crossed the line. Paying attention to that on a 360 set is still important.

I wonder if Cloudbass had their vision mixer die, The way it cut to just one camera is usually how OBs are wired so they can fall back to something rather than black. Then when it came back up the graphics only had fill and no key.
Being stuck on the wide shot could be explained by a mixer crash, but the wrong GFX popping up (keyed) would be less likely to be mixer crash related.
I also don't think the cut to the GFX source Full Frame can be explained by the GFX source coming back with a fill and no key. To display the source FF like that it would have to be selected on the programme bus of the mixer - if it was keyed without the key being present it would either be invisible, or would be keying off the luminance depending on the key settings. To produce the effect we saw using a key, where the GFX source was full frame, it would somehow have had to have a full white key assigned.
Also the strap mixes off to black right before it cuts back to camera.

In 2016, the London Mayoral debates were scheduled in the 10.35 slot as an opt-out of the main BBC One schedule, but the BBC London mayoral debate this year was scheduled in lieu of the main regional news bulletin.

That's a bit sloppy of them to have scheduled it in place of a 6:30 programme. Surely they could have found a network slot to opt out of, like one of the 7:30 repeats.

TBF to the BBC, ITV London did that for their mayoral debate as well in 2016 and actually it makes sense because it’ll reach the maximum amount of people whereas 1930 against one of the soaps won’t.

Worth pointing out that wasn't the only mayoral debate, as only two candidates appeared. I know they've already said they're doing another one with other candidates and I'm assuming there'll be one with most of the candidates too.
