Famously, the seventh series of Red Dwarf, a show generally known for having a live audience, recorded this particular series without as the creator was aiming for a more filmic look.
The episodes were screened to an audience later on however and the laughter was dubbed in, but some versions of episodes later released in an extended, director's cut form did not feature this laugh track, and the gap left by the actors for the audience laughter is very noticeable.
