CITV's circumstances are different to CBBC's; CITV doesn't have a channel to timeshare with on Sky, Freesat and Virgin, on Freeview ITV makes use of the remaining space to broadcast one of the timeshift channels. Quite frankly ITV are also satisfied with their current channel lineup as well, since all of the offshoots (especially ITV2 and ITV3) rate well and bring in a good amount of advertising revenue. CBBC is reverting to 7pm purely to accommodate BBC Three when it relaunches

And presumably CITV would expect to benefit from CBBC closing at 7pm, so closing earlier isn't "competing". Indeed I suspect they may give the evenings a bigger push.
Are any stats out there on the amount of original UK childrens programming produced each year. Without getting into the things were better in our day argument I'd be very surprised if much more new content gets produced now than it did in the 90s - probably roughly one show per day per service.

Just spotted a Cbeebies advert on BBC One before Saturday Kitchen which contained an updated Cbeebies logo. The bulk of the logo appeared to be the same but the BBC blocks were in Reith.

I think it’s to let CBeebies fit in the split logo thing. And with no doubt, CBBC will receive the same treatment.

Whilst I think this makes sense for promo for CBeebies on other channels, I don’t think this is that we’ll see on the channel itself in any way
