The plan during this Covid series was for as few people to be based in Spain as possible and this would have been the same for Iain and Laura regardless of their baby. I expect Laura will only be out there for Casa Amor and the final now. You'd be surprised at how much is based in London this time.

Love Island: ITV condemns death threats sent to contestant Chloe Burrows

ITV has condemned death threats sent to Love Island contestant Chloe Burrows, calling them "wholly unacceptable".

On Wednesday night's show, Burrows chose to recouple with Aaron Francis, leaving Shannon Singh single.

The move resulted in Shannon departing the dating programme, causing people to send threats to Burrows online, with some encouraging her to kill herself.

The issue isn't the show - it's the behaviour of some of it's viewers. That goes way beyond one TV show - some fandoms out there are pretty crazy and unhinged and to be honest it probably is too easy to blame social media too. That is a society issue and if people are watching a TV show and then sending death threats as a result of what is the core format point of the show (recoupling), then it is clearly those individuals who are the problem, not the show.

This is incorrect. Whilst at times journalists and broadcasting personnel have been exempt, currently they are not (unless "engaged in urgent or essential work for the "BBC’s broadcasting transmission network and services"). You could also argue that they may be able to use the "regular work abroad" exemption but the caveat here would be "if you are residing in England, you must also demonstrate your work is of a critical nature which cannot be done remotely." https://www.gov.uk/government/publicatio...exemptions

A recent episode of ITV's Love Island sparked almost 25,000 complaints to regulator Ofcom, a record for the show.

Friday's instalment saw Faye Winter confront her partner Teddy Soares over footage, shown without full context, from Casa Amor week.

On that subject interesting that whilst here hundreds complain to the regulator everytime someone sneezes on a reality show over in the US Big Brother has had just 20 complaints in the last 5 years.

The identical twin brother of Love Island contestant Brett Staniland has spoken out against online trolling after receiving "relentless" comments.

Scott Staniland, who is managing his brother's social media accounts, says comments about physical appearance are particularly upsetting.

I think that wherever we are next year with COVID, there should be separate presenters for the main show and Aftersun. It would allow Laura to avoid travelling back and forth constantly as a mother and stay in Spain permanently for the series duration, and Aftersun could then act as a way of bringing in new talent and giving them a springboard (I’d personally give it to Arielle who currently hosts the podcasts).

Millie Court and Liam Reardon have been crowned winners of Love Island 2021 at the end of the dating programme's first series for 18 months.
