Kanal 2 in Estonia rebranded in late August, along with its sister channels. Gone were the red and yellow 'bladed 2' since the channel's 1993 inauguration, a curved 2 is formed by a yellow circle, red circle and a purple overlap.

Alongside Kanal 2, the sister channels were united under the Duo umbrella. Sony Channel became Duo3, Kanal 11 rebranded to Duo4, Kanal 12 became Duo5, Sony Turbo became Duo6, and a new channel Duo7 was launched. See Logopedia for the changes.

And now, Duo7 is quietly renamed Kanal 7. In addition, a new channel Kino 7 launched in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, serving Russian-speaking viewers, as well as a less-known one called Kanal 7+.

And over in Australia, ABC is probably dusting their archives. Besides bringing back the 1980s news opening, their colour ident was also brought back before starting Barons, a series which sets in the 1970s.

The rebrand drops the well-known logo designed by Gédéon in 1997 for a new logo which retains many of the essential elements of the aforementioned; however, the new logo's design is much more in line with the new Fundação Roberto Marinho brand unveiled last year. As with the foundation's new logo, the new brand identity was designed by in-house teams from Globo and Fundação Roberto Marinho.

About time too, as the stretched wordmark in the original feels more dated as years went on. Eden (of UKTV) can take a page from these guys IMO.

Over in Slovakia, TV WAU was rebranded to JOJ WAU, bringing the female-oriented channel more in line with the group. Compared to the pointy package since 2016, the new graphics is more free-flowing, and consists of a lot of tubes.

Here’s an ident used by the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in the Barbados in the 1970s and '80. The logo seems vaguely familiar:

PBS Kids' new logo and brand identity will launch on July 19. Lippincott, who previously worked with PBS on their 2019 rebrand, did the entire rebranding process.

And the new set is now on air. Still a mix of old and new pres at the moment, despite the rebrand has been applied to things as small as their app icon.

Yep. It is reported that Rinat Akhmetov (a pro-Russian oligarch, thru his own holding System Capital Management) was forced to return its licenses after Zelensky signed a law to curb the political influence of oligarchs on all sides of public interest in the wake of the Russian invasion and Kyiv's application to join the EU; additionally, the group was losing around 100-150 million dollars in revenue caused by the suspension of regular programming in favour of the Yedyni novyny marathon, which led Akhmetov to plan cost-cutting measures, this according to Forbes Ukraine.

TV Klan in Albania has the rights to some really popular series here like "Kuruluş: Osman" (a Turkish series about the life of Osman I) and "Sadakatsiz" (another Turkish drama which is an adaptation of the BBC series 'Doctor Foster').
That's why it baffles me that they use iMovie music for their news intro.

The Look Sport channels in Romania, owned by Clever Media, renamed themselves to align with the flagship Prima TV branding. Look Sport+ is now Prima Sport 1, Look Sport is Prima Sport 2, Look Sport 3 and Look Sport 4 are now Prima Sport 3 and 4 respectively. Plus, a new Prima Sport 5 is on the horizon.

And the channels rebranded again last week, removing Prima's P symbol, but retained the frame and emphasized the channel numbers instead (using Prima Sport 1 as an example).

Unfortunately, despite going on the air for quite some time, there hasn't been much records to the updated pres, compared to the April rebrand.

The New Zealand government is making a push to merge TVNZ and Radio NZ back together, to better face the rapid change in viewing habits.

According to the government release, a specific board will be launched in structuring the merged entity, which is aimed to run in July 2023.

An update on the merger: The combined entity's name is drafted to be Aotearoa New Zealand Public Media (ANZPM), first appearing in the Strong Public Media Bill in late June.

From the RNZ article, the resulting corporation will remain the mixed commercial-government funding model, where RNZ and TVNZ becomes subsidiaries. $370 mil. over 4 years in operating expenditure and $306 mil. in capital funding are expected in the Budget. A new charter will be written, with larger emphasis on catering the Māori communities.

A summary of ANZPM's objectives laid out in the Bill:

• Reflecting and representing a strong New Zealand identity and culture
  
• Ensuring te reo Māori and tikanga Māori are valued, visible and flourishing
  
• An inclusive, enriched and connected society, supporting children's wellbeing and growth and New Zealand's diverse languages, regions and cultures
  
• Fostering a healthy, informed and participative democracy
  

The legislation says ANZPM would achieve this through freely available, accessible, and high-quality content across all genres that informs, enlightens, and entertains.

Kris Faafoi's Broadcasting Minister seat was succeeded by Willie Jackson, who reassured the resulting organization's editorial independence will not be affected by the government, as some opposing party worried, in a RNZ interview. Under this, the Bill passed first reading in New Zealand Parliament yesterday, and it's going to the Economic Development, Science and Innovation select committee, waiting people's submissions for 6 months.
