It's an interesting choice, but also quite a natural convergence of the two youth-oriented properties. DR3 was a TV channel before it went online only in 2020. DR P3 is a radio service, but has also expanded its online footprint through podcasts, video content and social media. It doesn't really make sense to keep two separate identities for services that are targeting the same audience and doing many of the same things.

I love that WETA theme. But again its not a unfied PBS branding because these stronger PBS stations prefer to operate independently.
I love PBS and always will do. But they way the operate irks me. Sadly instead of operating under one strong brand or centralized schedule or entity. PBS is a loosely strung together group of stations. Their branding has improved over the years. But you have some stations stronger than others. WGBH and WETA are very strong stations. And they seem to do the heavy lifting with acquisitions and productions. NPR and PBS should, in my opinion operate similar to PAXtv back in the day. One network, one brand, one schedule. (Maybe split due to timeszones of course) All resources to one place. PBS would be in a better position to create better programming or acquire programming they are now losing to streaming services. Also PBS News should be a stronger organization if operated differently rather than its current iteration in conjunction with the stronger NPR (National Public Radio) brand. By far their news product is far superior, it just doenst have the funding to compete with the commercial channels to much more. PBS should in theory operate as a smaller version of the BBC or CBC (without the adverts).

I've noticed that Spanish TV has a trend of using enormous personal clip on/lav mics rather than the discrete ones we are used to seeing.

Does anybody have any idea why they prefer these to something less ugly?

This partly undoes a massive rebranding process made in 2017 by the broadcaster, owned by CME, a process which was consulted by fellow Czech broadcaster TV Nova, and which mirrored a similar process made a year earlier by the broadcaster.

Two of Pro TV's channels were renamed to address some woes in audience reception of the unified brands: Pro X, its male-focused channel, featuring action-themed shows, comedy programming and many hours of sports, has been renamed Pro Arena, partly to reinforce its focus on the latter; Pro 2, its female-skewed lifestyle channel, has been renamed back to Acasă TV, the name the channel had for many years. Both channels received new logos, but still in the line of the current Pro TV brand.

After a massive promo blitz which began in early March, the channel's websites receiving the new logos by the end of the month, and the rebranding being authorized by the Romanian media authorities at the same time, both channels relaunched in the early hours of Monday.
It's followed up by Pro Cinema and Pro Gold (now Acasă Gold) on 19/4. The former rebranded slightly, with the dot between "Pro" and "Cinema" becomes light purple in the station bug, while the latter reverted to its pre-2017 name.

The rebrand promo:

Pro Cinema:

Pro Gold/Acasă Gold:

Around Romanian TV, the Look Sport channels, owned by Clever Media, renamed themselves to align with the flagship Prima TV branding. Look Sport+ is now Prima Sport 1, Look Sport is Prima Sport 2, Look Sport 3 and Look Sport 4 are now Prima Sport 3 and 4 respectively. Plus, a new Prima Sport 5 is on the horizon.

And the Telekom Sport channels changed their names to Orange Sport last month, reflecting the new ownership from Telekom Romania to Orange.

Something major is coming to NRK as they're rolling out a simplistic but big refresh of all services to accomodate their new NRK Sans bespoke font during this year. This will also include new channel and radio logos and updated colours for each one.
Minimalistic, similar to what DR and SVT have done in recent years.
The rebrand was created by NRK's in-house creative agency and ANTI. The new font was designed by Typotheque who has worked with NRK before for their news rebrand in 2015.

NRK Sans is too similar to BBC Reith Sans.
That's probably where the similarities stop though as I suspect unlike the BBC NRK will manage to unroll this rebrand on a single day.
@Brekkietweets
And I thought that the BBC was the only one that came up with the idea of a bespoke font, how many other broadcasters have created their own fonts?

Pretty much all the main ones.  It's a common thing to do nowadays.

Is it because of the need of saving money?

In part, but also to make a distinctive identity from the rest.

Personally, I am liking the new look from what has been seen so far. They're going for a "BBC Anything" style system, and they manage to make the brands distinctive without compromising it. Glad they're also retaining their longtime logo (unlike what TV 2 did last year), even redrawing it to fit smaller sizings, and making every of the elements (not just the dot, as it was imagined by Kemistry when tweaking the logo in 1999/2000) a part of the overall brand system.

In case the video isn't handy for you, here's how the broadcaster's main brands will look like (except P3, which might retain its distinctive branding, although tweaked, only time will tell).

LOTS. DR, Norwegian TV 2, ZDF, RTL of Germany, CANAL FLIPPIN PLUS.
Sorry, got carried away there. Besides, I actually prefer when companies have their own fonts. It gives them an air of personality to them.

A shame that they've gone for "NRK Sans" as a name. Their Danish and Swedish counterparts have custom typefaces named, respectively, DR Publik and (SVT) Publik. NRK Publikk would have been a good family match.
