it almost looks like it uses the Scotland flag in that - the cross thing - anyone else see that or is it just me?

The cross thing is called a saltire. I think it is only for this programme.

I think the background is from the BBC Introducing branding already in use, but the blocks and centred logo at the bottom is the first example I've seen of the new chameleon format being used on a non-national station.

Old logo on the Glastonbury coverage. It looks so wrong now - funny really how quick you adapt to the new version looking correct when it looked so awful to begin with.

That's been around for a while... if you click on the "play live" button whilst on LW schedule on a LW-only programme it'll go to /play/live:bbc_radio_fourlw... If you notice that if you click on Radio 4 on the main sounds page that it ends in /play/live:bbc_radio_fourfm
Just noticed that LW finally has its own 'logo', a tiny LW in the 4 circle..
Unless maybe you mean on mobile? I prefer listening analogue so maybe didn't notice.. that wasn't available on mobile..

Yes, although it is a bit annoying to have to scroll past 4 versions of Radio Scotland etc to get to the English local stations. Mind you it's a good thing that they haven't put all R Scotlands versions on there 

There's a lot of screen 'real estate' taken up by stations that are only different for a few hours a week or aimed a few thousand people.

Scotland and Wales MW have different sport programmes on. I think that on Saturdays Scotland FM have a general sport programme and MW has commentary for example. 

Orkney and Shetland arent in MW but have a couple of local programmes a day. There's also Cymru 2 which when I looked the other day I couldn't see a difference in schedules, they had a different breakfast show at one point

As someone who follows Radio Orkney (I have family that live up there). They have a daily morning news programme and a Friday requests show. Plus additional programming at certain times of the year in the evenings.

It’d probably make sense to have some way on Sounds to show the different versions of a station (eg Radio Scotland FM and Radio Scotland MW) within the same overall station (maybe using multiple columns at the times they split?). Good that the multiple versions are there at last, but agree it’s messy for the reason Inspector Sands gives.

If I remember correctly the older versions of the Sounds app (before mid-2020) had the stations page as a proper list that went in the format:

station Currently airing programme schedule button
logo] Broadcast time

I feel like this previous design was better than what we currently have on the app, especially when looking for local radio!

Not really chameleon related, but I’ve been travelling around the country a bit recently and when the cheapo get it out of the way as quick as possible travel news kicks in, I got to hear some of the local radio stations.

I think the sung jingles and the ‘all the music you love’ strapline sound really old fashioned and dated, and are particularly bad on stations with a funny number of syllables in the name.
