Plans for BBC One HD

I guess it's possible that it is, though it's not something I can say as I don't live there!

There's still SD versions of the terrestrials in the 800s as well, listed as "Audio description" versions (as well as the BBC1 nations and we have an alternate BBC1 and ITV region too). And Channel 5 SD is also still on the channel number that the HD version used to be on before that was moved to 105 as well.

I've seen this mentioned quite a lot, but I do have C4 HD on 104 on Virgin, in the Home Counties.

104 is C4 HD in the London region.
The whole Virgin EPG is a confused mess, to be honest
Write that down in your copybook now

I've never played with a Virgin box, but going by their cabinet in my road, that appears to be made of drinks can guage metal, the lousy tarmac restoration from their cabling up the area 5 years ago, and everything I read about them on t'internet, the whole set up seems rather Micky Mouse. I think I'll stick with Openreach based FTTC, Freeview and Sky (satellite) for the time being

It was quite orderly until the HD versions of channels came along, certainly more so than Sky were. Since then it's gotten a bit messy.

The reed screen still listing Virgin has already been mentioned, but I notice they've also removed the countdown? Now it just says "Programming will resume shortly here on BBC One HD".
Still waiting on DVB-T2! She/they.

That's normal for the 18:30 version. If you wait long enough, it goes into a sequence of extended trailers
So... Sky Glass and Virgin Media now have full regionality on BBC One HD, right?

I'm hopeful that "normal" Sky (which is what I have) will follow quite soon. And, presumably, Freesat would be around the same time.

What's the betting that the HD regions don't finally reach the poor relation that is Freeview until, say, November or something?! ?

Sky and Freesat, while not exactly a quick fix, require (from what I can tell from this thread) a lot less work than Freeview and I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to launch in the first half of this year

As for Freeview, I agree that it seems like it'll be a bit of a wait - rather unfortunate in a FV(/iPlayer) only household, but still

There's still a lot of extra coding, and extra uplink provision that need to be installed and commissioned. The clue to anything about to happen (4-6 weeks into the future) will be extra transponders at 28.2E being 'warmed up' with test patterns. There's nothing at present

At least with their new 360 box you can re-oder the channels any way you want!
The thing with sky is the need to have channel space on the satellite for all the regions, not the easiest thing to do. I don't think all the ITV HD regions are on Satellite for that reason (a quick look at Lyngsat shows Border Scotland isn't, and STV Glasgow is the only one of the 4 STV regions in HD).
Not sure if full regionality will be achieved on Freeview, considering the state of the ITV HD regions on Freeview.

Pretty sure they are. They don't have Channel Islands and Border in HD, but that's mainly because Channel HD and Border HD haven't launched yet. I'm pretty sure they ITV HD in the Channel Islands via Sky/Freesat via ITV London?

(apologies for the double post, and I also forgot about STV regions)

They have Border England in HD, but not Border Scotland. And only STV Glasgow in HD. The Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen/Inverness versions are only SD. As has been said already, the Edinburgh and Dundee versions are in HD on Virgin.

Edit: Actually, a proper look shows all 4 STV regions are there, but all but the Glasgow are encrypted (I was only looking at FTA channels at first, which is why I didn't see them). Border Scotland is still SD only though.

Ignore me, I clearly have no idea what I'm talking about...
