Dancing with the Stars Ireland begun tonight on RTÉ One. There has a number of small changes done to the set this year at Ardmore Studios in Bray.

Once they finish their dancing on the night. They speak to Nicky Byrne on their own after doing their stint on the dancefloor. The contestants are not allowed to stand around each other.

The set has a new section of tables & chairs for all of the dancers to sit down near the dancefloor which is there because of Covid restrictions.

It would also be nice if RTE revamped their on screen look for RTÉ ONE which has been using the same SD upscaled idents for around 15 years now. Even if the idents have HD footage, the RTÉ ONE logo that appears on them is certainly not crisp HD. A corporate logo refresh would be great too, and a nicer look for RTÉ TWO. I've never warmed to it's current look, I felt the old "green room" idents were so much better and had lots of potential before they started introducing poor surrounding presentation for them which made them feel less special.

I always thought they might rebrand RTÉ One as just RTÉ. Like ITV did in 2013

So essentially the same changes as Strictly then. TBH I actually somewhat prefer this set up.

Jennifer Zemperalli is not on Dancing with The Stars tonight due to Covid. I hope she gets on OK. Lottie Ryan is on hand to deputise for Jennifer tonight.

There are a few.

CBC in Canada seems to show it daily at 7pm for 30 minutes with 1 hour on a Friday. But TVNZ shows it in 1 hour blocks already.

I think it does mess up Virgin Media One though who currently mirror the ITV schedule. They have their news bulletin at 8pm.

As mentioned above on the Coronation Street thread, the changes at ITV will no doubt impact the Virgin Media 1 schedule when they come into effect in Spring.

Currently the soaps broadcast at the same time (most of the time), with the News at 8 and The Six O'Clock Show being the other pieces of furniture in the schedule. Let's not forget that when UTV Ireland had the soaps, The Six was The Seven O'Clock Show. There will be a reluctance to move the News closer to 6pm both because RTÉ dominate it, and the Six O'Clock Show and News share the same studio, and while it's not impossible to vacate the studio in time, it's not ideal.

Bet they wish they didn't axe Xpose now! Wink

Tonight's edition of The Late Late Show on RTÉ One is having a special fundraiser organized by The Irish Red Cross to help out the people who are
fleeing from the invasion of Ukraine.

Guests include people from the Ukrainian Community in Ireland, An Taoiseach Michael Martin, Aslan, Roisin Murphy and Alan Cumming.

Possibly really off topic but our Irish users may have received their census form recently - I can’t be the only one who’s instantly been struck by the Census 2022 identity’s resemblance to the late Anglia TV flag logo!

RTÉ News turns green every year; happened last year for example, so most likely yes
