Such sad news, 58 is no age these days, my thoughts are with his family and friends.

Genuinely shed a few tears after seeing this news. Totally shocked. Been watching his work a lot over lockdown and it really helped me through. RIP Cry

Incredibly sad news.

I see that 4Music and E4 both have repeats of Cats does Countdown scheduled today (the 4Music one not featuring Sean), I wonder if they will be pulled or have a tribute caption added?

He has only appeared in one recent filmed episode (4th Feb) as they have aired old unused episodes filmed in 2019 for last year and part of this year's series due to COVID and guest captains covered the rest of this year's series newly filmed episodes.

Given there were only 3 newly filmed episodes in the last run, I expect there are more already in the can, so he may appear again.
Helen McCrory's death was similar in terms of shock but like Sean Lock, there was an inkling as the last interview she did, she was noticeably unwell.

Carrot in a Box is trending. Still ridiculously funny.

I was shocked by this news. He was terrific on 8 Out of 10 Cats (and does Countdown). One of the absolute comedy greats.

RIP.

Sean was the king of dry comedy.

Shocked when I read this today, no comedian on TV has made me laugh more during the last 15 years than Sean Lock. He was brilliant on 8 out of 10 Cats and 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown his wit and dry humour will be missed and the tributes shows he was the comedians comedian. Rest in Peace

A shame 15 Storeys High isn't on any streamer officially at least at the moment. That's one that completely passed me by.

Such sad news, but thinking back to the last episode of Catsdown not a total surprise - he looked very frail and ill.

Very much the comedians comedian - he was always one of those that other comedians said was one of their favourites. He'd been on the circuit for decades - he was support act for Newman and Baddiel's infamous arena tour in the early 90s.

He's had so many great moments on panel shows, I think Nazi Island might be my favourite (NSFW)

I actually cannot believe that this guy is dead. This is desperately sad news. I had watched Sean Lock on a few episodes of 8 out of 10 does Countdown over the years. I had also watched him Jimmy Carr hosted one of the episodes of Cats does Deal or No Deal for Stand Up to Cancer a few years ago. He was an extremely funny guy who had me in stitches whenever he mentioned one of his jokes on the show.

RIP Sean. Sad

Absolutely saddened by today’s news. Sean was a great comedian and was such a great captain of 8 Out of 10 Cats. The programme won’t be the same without him, nor will Cats Does Countdown. 58 is no age for someone to die. RIP Sean.
