Interesting phrase in 'and represent the Channel in other matters'... unsure what this could mean?

I'm going to guess they'll give him his own current affairs show. He also recently (well, last year) hosted a quiz show that (from what I could tell) was basically Channel 4's answer to Only Connect.

I can't imagine they'll will give him a current affairs given they already have in the form of Dispatches plus they don't rate.

I'm not one to get my news from C4, but what an incredible career. Jon is considered very much the face of Channel 4 News all through my life (me being just two years the channel's junior.)

I found this in amongst a pile of video tapes my Gran gave me last year. This is from 1989, around the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall. My uncle was there at the time, and he made a brief recording of some of the ITN crew preparing to report from the wall.

I couldn't agree more. The editorial team have worked to developed a pool of talent (god, I really do hate that phrase) that can adapt. Jon is an incredible journalist. What follows will develop on this, and the whole team behind it.

I remember him on LBC/IRN in their early days.

There was LBC's breaking news coverage of the Balcombe Street siege in 1975.This was ground breaking stuff, something really not done on UK radio or TV until then.

I could see that happening to be honest. Although of similar opinion on many issues of the day, I feel Snow could hold a line better on a given subject than O' Brien who always seems to get very defensive, borderline aggressive when he debates callers. I think he'd be great.

Yes. Jon has just become a father at the age of 72.
It makes total sense that he enjoys that experience to the max

I'm over 10 years younger than Jon Snow, hopefully about to become a grandfather this year, and I'm feeling inclined to retire soon ! All this Covid malarkey is causing a lot of people to rethink what's really important in life.
