Powercut at Grays Inn Road: 4/4/22
I noticed that the News at Ten endcap just said ITN at the bottom, rather than the usual ITN 2022
Here's the open...

Yes - think she was a travel correspondent at lunch, health reporter for the Evening bulletin and then sounds like she had a new role by this evening.

Obviously the national bulletins prioritised so London the only one not to go out at all. Did Meridian extend their patch for the evening to include some London stories? That's one perhaps if the issues continue tomorrow they should perhaps try and do from Millbank - at least the 6pm edition, though I guess the bigger issue is having a base to put the bulletin together rather than the broadcasting of it.
@Brekkietweets
With News at Ten especially, it was nice to see it coming from a real set and not the functional VR one they usually use.
Is it not a bit odd that ITV News Meridian South Coast version is the back up for London? Surely the South East one would be better, what with the history on the other side of London & the south east being linked (both with Covid bulletins and with Newsroom South East), plus is it not smaller, and more dominated by London commuter belt areas

In the past they used the sub-opt used by TVS and Meridian that came out of Newbury. BBC One also used to be South but switched to South East.

One London story from Rags Martel featured, plus the weather forecast map also covered London. Sangeeta Bhabra kept mentioning to visit the ITV News London website for more news.
What happened with Calendar after News at Ten? Same studio?

TBH I imagine anyone who really wanted local London news would wait until BBC London started at 1830.

It was a story about Heathrow, a location Meridian usually need no encouragement to cover anyway. 06:24 GMB bulletin is also being shared with London this morning BTW

Just out of interest is it the Meridian South Region that London falls back on or was it that edition was live tonight rather than pre-recorded?

The power company's map linked on page 3 by Newsroom suggests the lights are still off.
Write that down in your copybook now
ITV Meridian (South) for London during GMB currently
Interesting. Could we be in for day 2 of disruption? I would suspect so unless the power comes back on in the next hour or two.

I suspect contingency plans were made yesterday should the disruption continue, but then again they may just take the jaunt back up to Leeds if needs must and it worked yesterday.

Another thing that came to mind yesterday is why they didn’t use the studio that they use for the regional political programmes at Millbank? Unless that’s been addressed and I’ve just missed it.
