Well with respect if you pay attention it automatically tells you roughly how old the series is without having to wait for the credits as the clues are there.
Actual examples:
The "putting the lights out" on the prize board was a later addition to the format, and started around the time they shifted production to Lenton Lane.
The "three contestants in Round 2" started IIRC In Series 8 so if you see that it's automatically post 1988.
If dart boards are on the "left" and the prize board is on the right, it's pre 1984. If its the other way round it's 1984. If its all the left and its on the revolving stack (and there are neon lights everywhere) it's post 1985.
