Challenge - Jon - 08-04-2021 The current episode of Bullseye showing on Challenge seems to have been squashed into a 16:9 letter box. Anyone know how this would even happen? The channel itself is outputting at the correct aspect ratio as the DOG is in the correct position, so it must be an issue with the playout of this particular programme. Challenge - This is UTV - 09-04-2021 As Challenge (and Pick) are showing the usual schedule, I do wonder if we will see an uplift in its ratings these next few days while all/most BBC channels & ITV focus on the current news events. I've watched more Challenge today than in a very long while! Playout issues on Challenge are not new. Even on a per episode basis its not uncommon for ECPs not to appear, voice-overs to be completely wrong/absent/in the wrong place or (as happened on one occasion) playing the same episode of something twice back to back... Challenge - James Martin - 10-04-2021 Call it a wild guess but I imagine Disney+ had a very good night. Challenge - This is UTV - 25-04-2021 Challenge showing Lily Savages Blankety Blank, and they are claiming on screen that these eps are "New to Challenge". Well I've been watching this on Sundays between 5pm-7pm for about the last 4 months (3 eps shown each sunday) and tonight they're showing eps that were only on a few weeks ago...so clearly not "New to Challenge"! :? It got me thinking, I've seen this "New to Challenge" graphic on screen many times before when they are showing something I've definitely seen previous on Challenge....could this sort of thing get them in bother with Ofcom (making claims of something new to Challenge when it's previous been shown, i.e. these Blankety Blank eps that which were only on a few weeks ago)? Could this been seen as misleading viewers? Making false claims onscreen? Or do Ofcom not seen any problems with a broadcaster making claims something is 'new' when it's not??? Channel 5 get away claiming stuff is 'new' when its a 'Revised repeat'. Challenge - Neil Jones - 25-04-2021 "New to Challenge" usually means they haven't shown it under Sky ownership. I wonder sometimes if the "new to Challenge" thing is tagged in the system and somebody's just forgotten to remove it/hasn't noticed. It's not really "misleading" as such, probably no more misleading than their ident which features plenty of gameshow elements belonging to programmes they haven't shown for months or years. Challenge - Alx321 - 25-04-2021 Sort of related to Challenge but more and more on weekends Pick has been showing The Chase! I understood when it was the odd celebrity special but has now gone up to more civilian episodes. Why is this? I understood when it was the odd celebrity special but has now gone up to more civilian episodes. Why is this? Content sharing presumably. No different to the days when Ftn was on Freeview and it supposedly "showcased" the rest of the Flextech channels as it was at the time, albeit in a totally half-arsed fashion (it spoke volumes when the "highlight" of the night was Most Haunted). Then somebody pulled their finger out, showcased more of the network, Ftn improved, and then they closed it. Fantastic. I can only presume Chase rates as good on Pick as it does on Challenge. Its just another cheap filler. Remember when Sky3 was a thing it aired stuff from the other Sky channels of the time (nothing premium of course, just old Sky 1 gameshows and Brainiac/Test Tube Baby amongst other things), so its not a new practice for Sky to do this. Challenge - NYC27G - 26-04-2021 I don't think sky really care about Challenge anymore. I've noticed that the website has stopped working and all social media channels have been inactive for since July 2019. I hope the rumours about Sky wanting to cease broadcasting aren't true. Challenge - Neil Jones - 26-04-2021 The website (challenge.co.uk) stopped working months ago, probably around the time they stopped updating social media (the team was disbanded apparently). The "official" website seems to be this, though it isn't advertised as such: https://www.sky.com/watch/channel/challenge Challenge - HEW2343 - 26-04-2021 Would note that Challenges Twitter account came back to life on the 30th December 2020 to reply to Ricky Gervais. https://mobile.twitter.com/ChallengeTV/status/1344785540747554817 Challenge - Brekkie - 26-04-2021 Alx321 post_id=9019 time=1619383460 user_id=1279 Wrote:Sort of related to Challenge but more and more on weekends Pick has been showing The Chase! Challenge - CameronYoung - 27-04-2021 ![]() "Boxing Day: Bullseye"? It appears to be series 1 (Jim's doing the scoring), possibly the very first episode. Challenge - Jon - 27-04-2021 Noticed that. Also a strange choice for Challenge to be showing Pointless at 5pm at the moment. Surely any Pointless fan is far more likely to be watching the BBC One showing at that time. It’s almost as if they don’t care about the channel.
