What an opportunity for the BBC, and what an amazing coincidence that the one year in recent times that the UK does well but doesn't win just so happens to have come when the winning country can't host, as has happened historically when the BBC has stepped in to host in the past.

Will be really interesting to see how the host city process plays out, and indeed what sort of government involvement there is, if any.

Although, if we were to win next year, which seems unlikely. Would there be a feeling we’d have to let Ukraine to host the following year, assuming it looks better place to host it in years times?

In terms of nods to Ukraine, I think this years winners performing at some stage and some kind of Ukrainian influenced interval act should be enough.
