Certainly BBC One and Two were playing it out separately with their own announcer reading the same script last Friday.

Yep, but presumably using it because the same schedule was on both channels - to all intents and purposes it was ansimulcast.

I don't know why they had different announcers, unless it was so Newsnight could be promoted. Possibly a contractual thing?

But on Saturday that wasn't the case so BBC One had an ident that said BBC One. Presumably that's the 'event safe' BBC One ident
