If it had gone through then we wouldn't be talking about this now; rather than being a Netflix button on your remote there would be one for kangaroo and the broadcasters would have been in much of a better position. There may not have been talk of privatising channel 4 and also comparing the BBC to Netflix etc. But that is just speculation and we will leave that there due to forum rules. We are where we are due to past decisions made, whether for good or for bad ..
The broadcasters tried very hard to shape the offer to what the CC wanted …but the CC was determined that in the British part of an international market they would have too much market power …..
