I imagine this is all just people on social media getting the wrong end of the stick, and taking things to extremes, so they can get all outraged

And them tomorrow it’ll all be forgotten about and there will be something else to rage about on social media

Without going political, I think there's a fair argument that the way in which the press release frames it has an element of playing to a certain crowd. I can imagine GB News and certain newspapers lapping this stuff up uncritically.
