I honestly don’t believe the full 90 sec has been aired?

Actually, the full 90 second one (from what I know it starts at 87" and has a 3 second break after it hits zero, thus making it 90") has aired once. Here's the recording I made back in 2019 (apologies for the poor quality, I recorded it on my iPad).

This is an interesting theory. However, there has forever been a fair few seconds of hold showing the beams crossing the forecourt at NBH until it just stops before the shot of presenter (usually News at Ten) which would make it even longer than 90 seconds if working to your theory.

We need an insider to clear up this minuscule but bothersome question.

I don't think that's correct. I remember being annoyed for weeks after the new countdowns launched that zero didn't equal the top of the hour, as it previously had.
