S6 of Airline restarted on CBS Reality last night, meaning we get to see the 2001 LWT logo, after Granada bought them. First time I saw this logo on TV. Would like to find more of these Granada franchise endcaps on TV, if anyone knows what shows still retain them let me know.


I've also been browsing through Amazon Prime Video here, found some pretty rare stuff, won't show them all but this is the most major find I've had so far, a Vestron Television logo at the beginning of their print of Howling III: The Marsupials (this find is related to Irish Prime so not sure if it's on the UK one, yes, UK and Ireland have different libraries).

That's the ITV(1) 2001 ECP design which was tweaked in 2002 to put the endcap on the left (previously it was full screen after credits). You'll find these on most ITV shows of that year (up to the rebrand in October 2002) that are still aired/repeated. All the Granada owned channels were purple end-caps in this era, the Carlton ones had their star.

Another interesting Amazon Prime Video find, this one comes from the beginning of Gregory's Girl (1981). From what I hear, this ITC logo is extremely rare. I think this movie sometimes airs on UKTV Drama, which keeps this intact if you wanna see it on TV for yourself

The episode of The Fugitive on CBS Justice right now (S3 E3) seems to be an older print, as the CBS Justice bug is shown in the 4:3 ratio as opposed to the 16:9 one. Hopefully a Worldvision logo is at the end.

The episode of Dr Quinn Medicine Woman that aired on TG4 a few days ago (S3 E9) had an interesting combo of The Sullivan Company/CBS Productions/20th Television/CBS Broadcast International too. Usually the 20th logo is cut, so this was also a surprise to me

Well this is unfortunate. The CBS logo has already appeared. Perry Mason also has the bug presented in the 4:3 ratio, just like The Fugitive, usually the bug on these two shows is presented in the 16:9 ratio. I'm checking the Perry episode to see if something appears but it's unlikely.

As expected, Perry Mason was a remastered print despite the bug being in 4:3, the episode ended with the CBS Television Network Zooming Eye kept intact followed by B&W CBSTD.

I miss back when this channel had variety tbh, not only is it bad logo wise now, but also in general. Why can't they add new shows or something?

Today TalkingPicturesTV aired Doctor in Clover, when this last aired in December 2020, it began with the Granada International logo and ended with the 1999 Carlton International logo.

However when it aired today both logos were cut out. Strange.

Also, for those who are unable to see the photos, it was an attempt to see if I could try a new photo host, but that failed.

I didn't realise that it was the main man Stephen J. Cannell himself in the video. Thanks for the little tiring of info.

I'm quite surprised by it too. There's even a list of the outfit he wore in different variants of the logo on CLG Wiki. With his lifelong dedication to TV, I think he'd be more than happy to feature his face at the end of his proud creations

Sorry it’s been a while, here are some interesting finds I have had on the telly box thingy the past three months. I also recently got a couple of TV channels I didn’t have prior, like the ITV/Channel 5 channels. 

• A Meridian logo at the end of an ITV3 airing of Ruth Rendell Mysteries. Had no idea that show was still airing, but it’s back now.
  
• An ABC Productions/StudioCanal 2011 combo at the end of an ITV4 airing of The Avengers. Pretty interesting to see the full StudioCanal logo at the end of a show.
  
• An MGM Worldwide Television Distribution/Sony Pictures Television International logo combo at the end of a Pick airing of a Stargate Atlantis episode.
  
• A 1973 Universal Television logo at the end of a 5USA airing of Columbo. Pre 1975 Universal logos were hard to find for me on TV until I got this station, so this was a neat find.
  
• Noticed some S8 episodes of Matlock airing over on CBS Drama, only episode I checked so far is S8 E12 which has the full length Viacom Wigga. Will report anything else I see, S8 E5 is airing tomorrow night so we’ll see what that has.
  
• Maverick also came to TCM (a TV show which is odd), and the WBTV logo from the era is kept.
  
• Been checking streaming service Peacock since I have Sky Q, I did see a USA Cable Entertainment logo on the 2003 Battlestar Galactica miniseries (the Universal Pictures logo was at the beginning meaning a Universal Television logo at the end was likely cut) and a 1989 Universal logo on S8 E1 of Columbo (shame they only have seasons 8-10 so far)
  
• Lethal Weapon 4 aired on TCM recently and the 75 Years WB was kept, thankfully.

Ruth Rendall was one of those shows that was originally made by TVS "in association with" an independent production company and Meridian took it over. ITV3 can only air the later episodes, the post 1992 shows. We all know the story about TVS and the archive, but Wiki suggests the second, fourth, fifth and six series of Ruth Rendell Mysteries did appear on DVD Germany a few years ago (unsure if just subtitled or if it was dubbed), which suggests the underlying issues are not totally insurmountable given enough resources.
