Lyse and Clive out there already. Wouldn't be surprised to see Ben Brown or Tim Willcox pop up there, think they anchored from Ukraine during the last crisis in 2014.

I'd hazard a guess Ben Brown will be on his way or out there already, same as Tim. Then again, there are more than enough women they could choose from. Shouldn't necessarily need to be the usual 'go to' team.

11am GMT hour is a World produced bulletin on Two, NC and World with Lucy Hockings & Lyse Doucet.

Sky News: Mark Austin seemingly mistaking a 'normal' bonfire in an Army compound, (where there were Ukrainian soldiers destroying documents) for a location where a shell has landed

I think people are just stating the logical names and presenters who've covered such awful events in the past, most of which have been men.

I don't think anyone's criticised any female reporters out there or the teams that have been sent, so finding sexism where there isn't and creating a rather sexist post in itself isn't really helpful.

Anyway, back to the overall picture, are we expecting an extended BBC News at Ten tonight?

Boris Johnson addressing the nation at 12pm and making a statement to parliament at 5pm. Dunno if BBC One will interupt normal shows at that time or whether it will stick to a BBC Two simulcast.

Channel 4 News are on air for an hour, Matt Frei presenting. Unsure whether this will be a daily addition or not.

Unsurprising, but the BBC News at Six is being extended to an hour with regional news pushed to 7pm.

BBC1 are still showing Homes under the hammer, whilst BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky are showing the statement from Boris Johnson.

Less of a synchronised broadcast, each channel seems to have started the address at their own time.

This is working really well. It shows how good having the live daytime programme works.. as they can easily slot in the 5 minute updates each hour and then return to a 'normal' show without having to go wall-to-wall.

Channel 5 & Aljazeera are also showing the statement

I think you may have misunderstood Worzel. Nobody has criticised any female reporters out there, in fact there are probably more in the field these days than ever before thank heavens. Everyone out there male or female are providing exceptional and compelling coverage.

They're actually quite lengthy summaries too rather than just a 60 second updates, though suspect the afternoon ones will be shorter.

bkman1990 post_id=69893 time= user_id=922 Wrote:NBC News Now had broke into a brief NBC News Special Report with Tom LLamas at around 4:30am UK time about the situation in Ukraine. It lasted for about 5 minutes before it went back to the MSNBC simulcast on NBC News Now.
I know NBC News Now normally takes Special Reports, but it's not really necessary when they're already simulating MSNBC.

The MSNBC simulcast continued until 7am ET - with Way Too Early and the first hour of Morning Joe replacing the usual 2-hour loop of Early Today from 5-7. Morning News Now started as usual at 7am ET, albeit in breaking news mode.

ABC News Live is continuing to show America This Morning on a loop past 7am, when it normally airs the Start Here podcast.
