Not sure if anyone mentioned here but the newsroom background of Studio B is actually edited! The center part which used to be the "inner" part of the newsroom was edited to the show the gallery behind Studio E... (See the center part) It seems they just slap the gallery part on top and fade the bottom on top of the tables.

If they want to show the newsroom gallery, why don't just make a panorama of Studio E's background?

Something I never seem to understand is how broadcasters seem to be able to have no issues doing on-location interviews with little delay during normal news bulletins, but when it comes to the elections, suddenly every down-the-line interview has 5 - 10 second delays, the kind you see when conducting such interviews across countries. Often those delays are between relatively local locations (ie a place in Glasgow to .... a place in Glasgow)

For me, it makes the interviews cringy to watch, mainly because of the huge delay between the interviewer and the interviewee.

Is it just a case that so many cameras are set up that they overall end up with a slightly longer delay compared to "normal" [normal being regular interviews outwith election periods] or is it some other reason?

I'd have favoured Emily Maitliss to take on the interviewing role in future general election coverage but after a pretty positive response to these two it would make sense to use Kirsty. Emily probably better utilised taking on the daytime host role the following day.

Yeah, I think the BBC have stumbled across quite a good election pairing in Huw and Kirsty, and I hope that Emily Maitlis will become the Election No.2 presenter in place of Huw now that he is in the top role.

Also, I've liked how they've utilised Newsnight's policy editor Lewis Goodall in the election coverage, with him doing the stuff on the touchscreen on the OS balcony for Breakfast yesterday and today as well as doing the touchscreen whilst Jo Coburn was in Studio E this morning

ITV Wales still had Adrian Masters and his podium in the corner for the Saturday bulletin.

I think he’s done them all, at least from what I remember anyway. He was political editor, although I think Colin Mackay has taken that brief and Bernard is now credited as Special Correspondent.

STV don’t seem to use their news anchors for results programmes. Although John Mackay and Andrea Brymer hosted the breakfast show following the independence referendum result the next morning (that may only have been on stv 2/stv Glasgow etc). I might be wrong but I’m sure that’s the case.

"Scotland This Morning", which aired the morning after IndyRef between 7am and 10am with John and Andrea aired on STV during GMB's airtime. The night before, John anchored a special STV News at Ten from Edinburgh. Andrea co-presented STV's 2019 General Election coverage with Bernard Pononby.

They also did the full 'Wales at Six' style closing theme to the bulletin as well.

That's almost unheard of during the weekend bulletins. Even a reporter joining the presenter live from an outside broadcast is very rare let alone in the studio. Its almost always just the presenter reading the news at weekends. The programme, apart from the weather, was also all taken up with the election, its a shame they couldn't have extended the bulletin to cover other news going on in Wales.

The BBC News Channel have now put Arthur/the election theme and the Elections titles back in their box for another year and reverted to the normal titles as of the 8pm TOTH.
