I imagine this is all just people on social media getting the wrong end of the stick, and taking things to extremes, so they can get all outraged
And them tomorrow it’ll all be forgotten about and there will be something else to rage about on social media

I can't imagine Death in Paradise would be affected by this proposal anyway given the majority of the cast and crew are British and it's made by Red Planet Pictures for the BBC.

To read the spiel seems to suggest everybody on British TV and film should behave like Hyacinth Bucket (without the delusion of being posh, painfully overbearing and telling people off who want a number 42 and a double portion of 25).
Where does it say that these proposals would effect 100% of content?

Without going political, I think there's a fair argument that the way in which the press release frames it has an element of playing to a certain crowd. I can imagine GB News and certain newspapers lapping this stuff up uncritically.

I wonder if part of this initiative might be to extend the film tax credits programme which is usually reserve for high end drama and high budget films to lower cost drama.

Just like the whole imperial measurements thing that has come out over the last few days, this is just another way to try to attract or retain voters who really don't have a clue how things actually work because there isn't really a problem to be solved and nothing will change.

The trouble is when things do change as a result of people who don't understand how things actually work in order to solve a non-existent problem it usually causes far more problems.
