Yes - not sure if they're showing one before the news too but it wasn't the best continuity IMO to stick an unscheduled news update in the schedule flowing straight into This Morning with no explanation as to why.
TBH the news updates should never have been removed from This Morning as it is so hopefully at least one sticks around. It is also worth noting the 12noon update is included within the programme itself - they return from a break then throw to it, with just the ITV News sting seperating it from the programme, suggesting that is all that is required to get around sponsorship issues.
P.S. Alison breaking down over her obesity issues was heartbreaking.
Also - is there any reason why Alison & Dermot are still distancing whereas Phil & Holly aren't?
I love how tabloids use the term 'plunged into chaos' for something which is at best an inconvenience and in the case of DOI, I'm sure they have the contingency in place even before Covid just in case a presenter is AWOL.
It'll never happen but I wonder if Julie Etchingham would ever consider guest hosting This Morning with Phil given they're usually paired together for Royal events.

Heck, it's already happened in the current series, Stephen Mulhern co-hosted an episode because Philip had COVID. They probably already have a substitute for Holly lined up.
Coleen Nolan would work for DOI.
