Much better today compared to the painful last 5 shows with Ruby acting like a fool making up silly words. I bet even Anne was glad to get rid of her.
It does feel a it awkward (I think) having a comedian telling rapid-fire jokes as Tim Vine does, and there's no audience to laugh, just a few crew.

I really don't think Tim Vine's comedy would work on Catsdown - his comedy is very different. Anyway, he's been on plenty of times before (
Apterous says 64 times before this week).
Comedians have been on Countdown countless times (the second ever DC guest was Kenneth Williams, who was there for almost all of series 1).
I'm sure his comedy would work on Catsdown, but he's a practicing Christian so doubt he wants to do that kind of telly. He doesn't really seem to do any panel shows on the telly.
Didn't he nearly make it throughout Taskmaster without swearing?
Although I'm sure there are plenty who could cross over between the two formats quite seemlessly I don't think many have. I was convinced Bill Bailey had done Dictionary Corner in the regular version for example as he's almost the classic style of DC guest, but he has only done CatsDown.
Jo Brand on the other hand has been a regular in dictionary corner, done CatsDown, was a contestant on the original celebrity series in 1998, the recent More4 version in 2019 and in a special 18th birthday edition of the main show back in 2000 (alongside Damien Eadie, playing Mark Nyman and Gyles Brandreth).
A new CatsDown episode with Sean Lock airs next week, also featuring Harry Hill and Rosie Jones.

You'll be disappointed, Harvey, that this series looks set to follow a similar pattern - four DC debutants thus far (Michael Grade, Beth Rigby, Ruby Wax and Geoff Norcott) and two more before this month is out (Elaine Paige and Lemn Sissay, not counting the latter's appearance in Susie's chair on Black to Front Day), while Prue Leith has had only her third stint and Stephen Fry will have only his fourth (and his first since the show was still only nine rounds).

I'm expecting her warm welcome back from Anne will be through gritted teath.
I'm sad to see Anne-Marie go, got use to her in the end. Her and Ms Robinson had a good rapport.
