All things weather.

And here's a flashback to my favourite forecaster in action to kick us off.

He had a bash at correcting this in 2012, albeit as an advert for a Seafood Restaurant:

I love that clip - "who the hell wrote this script".

Here's a couple TTTV ones with the legendary Bob Johnson:

As much as I like Ross, you can't really beat Mike & Bob.
Remember when local stations used to give away stuff for sending in weather pics?

Still have an ITV Westcountry umbrella in the loft as a bit of nostalgia.

My first one broke so I sent an email to the then presenter Katie Haskell asking for a new one and she was happy to oblige!

Do any regions still offer such gifts?

ITV Wales has its 'Weather Poncho' which was gifted to Jonathan Hill on his 25th anniversary day. Though as mentioned by Ruth herself, it's just a 'glorified bin liner'.

Nothing can be as ‘interesting’ as Czech channel TV Nova’s original Počasíčko late night forecast which was presented in the nude, with the presenter putting on the appropriate amount of clothing as per the forecast! Lots of viewers were consequently naturally hoping for a hot sunny day ...

That Paxman outro shows to good effect the size, scale and beauty(?) of Studio B. I hope it returns soon.

As for his weather forecast.........nailed it!
Bravo to the forecaster on Reporting Scotland last night...

Going overseas for the first time in this thread, TV5MONDE has received a new look for their forecasts. The credits confirm that the bulletin is produced in Brussels, which I suspect is using the RTBF virtual set.

Also I believe that they're now producing regional bulletins as this one goes into detail for Europe, the Middle East and North Africa while the rest of the world is summarised.

I'm probably late in noticing this but are all the regional Breakfast forecasts now pre-recorded the night before by the main regional forecaster?

Those produced by the Southern hub (the team based in NBH) aren't. The hub team produce the breakfast bulletins still though the lunchtime bulletins are often by a different person so I presume they all take longer and therefore have changed shifts around.
Yes, used to be a Northern hub I think as well but seems to be Owain now in the North West.

There still is a northern weather hub out of Leeds, but they're all working from home concentrating on BBC local radio bulletins. I don't know what NWT are doing for Breakfast, but the normal arrangement is for weather to come from Nottingham pre-recorded during Breakfast.
