Totally disagree. The London Studios looked plain and sterile to me. This current version is the best version yet. So I hope they keep the bones of it and just tweak it to fit the bigger desk. I guess the set-up will also be telling as to if they intend to welcome an audience back when possible. I for one hope so - the show is crying out for it IMO.

I agree about that London Studios set, I never liked it. And I never understood why it was designed with such a small desk when they knew they needed to get 4 people plus guests behind there. Always seemed too cramped - and this was before social distancing!

It wasn't the worst set though. They've had some corkers over the years. Some of the sets in the Carol Vorderman days were very tacky.

I don't imagine Monday is going to be a huge revamp is it? Rather an adaptation to allow for a bigger desk - similar to what GMB did.

I was a huge fan of the final London Studios set and it really felt like during that time the show came into it’s own and had a bit of resurgence of sorts.

The first set at Television Centre was hideous and it wasn’t a surprise to see it ditched so quickly. I really like the current set though and thank the purple and pink colour scheme they have at the moment really works. I’d be happy to just see them tweak the current set up for a large desk.

As for the set, the current one is my most favourite ever. I hope they keep the majority and only tweak it to accommodate the bigger desk.

It was just the desk that looked so small and was very crampt when there was a guest there too. Maybe it looks even more crowded now because we are used to distancing!

Let's see what happens on Monday. The positioning of the desk will be interesting. Also to see if there will be tweaks re graphics, colour scheme, etc.
They don't have a proper title sequence at the moment and have the ladies walking on and taking their seats with a pop song playing.

I wonder if the audience seating if it did return might be similar to the one they had for the first Television Centre set. Not ideal but better than nothing.

It looks tiny!

I expect that the memory of social distancing will continue to impact set designs for many years. I think all involved, from talent to designers to the public, will feel that virtually sitting on top of each other when there is space for a more spacious design won't be acceptable.

Whenever I see old episodes of Taskmaster, it just looks unnatural to see how close together they sat!

I'm guessing they wanted to replicate the old set from TLS but update it for 2019.

I am intrigued about how they are going to fit a longer desk in, as I presume it has to sit against the short edge of TC2 to have room for the audience (when they come back) so how they are going to fit it in without going on the long edge will be interesting to see.

I do wish LW would make their mind up and decide how the programme should start. Would like to see some intro consistency. Some days they're already sat down, others its a walk in, sometimes its a blast of the LW theme, other days it's any old pop song.

One change I would make is get rid of the LW outdated theme music and go back to this...

I thought the Sitting Duck era of Loose was a good one. Reverting back to the 'classic' theme was a mistake, and makes this over 20 year old show feel somehow still stuck in the 00's.


As for a new desk, how about a massive round table with each panellist top, bottom, left, right? A ultra long desk like the GMB one would not work as when the girls are talking/chating to each other, panellist 1 far left, and panellist 4 far right end will be really far away. GMB's long desk is fine as they're mainly facing forward talking to the camera, but the Loose Ladies talk too each other mostly and panellist 2,3,4 dont really do lines straight to camera.

Another thing I disagree with. That was the worst theme they have had IMO. Was so glad when they returned to the classic theme. Does it sound a bit dated and could do with a remix? sure. But keep the base there. But I do agree they need to settle on an opening style. I liked it when they used to walk out with the lead anchor saying "It all starts now...with Colleen Nolan, Linda Robson, Kaye Adams, and me, Ruth Langsford." But I guess that is a bit awkward without an audience....

From the teaser on This Morning just now, looks as though it’s a new desk on the existing set.

Prepare to be disappointed - it's two separate desks.

So to the average viewer it would appear as if the old Loose Women desk has been split in half. Quite smart actually. Glad to have all 4 panelists back in the studio, the conversation and programme is already a lot smoother without having to have one of the Loose Women down the line.

A minor change but it works. Guess this might be the longest running set Loose Women has had.
