And so it begins. Sky News to host the first leadership debate. It will be interesting to see if the NKOTB will also be given a chance to host one. (GB News).

The right age to remember NKOTB, but lucky enough to be able to avoid NKOTB!  Big Grin

Meanwhile here are the candidates:

ITV now taking the crown from Sky as the first to host a leaders debate.

Let's see if any of them can get all of the candidates still in the running by then to attend... I suspect we will be down to the final 2 by the weekend, but it does appear to be an unknown right now. Hard to plan!

When they say "The debate will take place at ITV's White City studios" I'm assuming they mean Television Centre, studio 2 or 3.
I'd watch if NKOTB were actually hosting one of the debates!

Can't rule out TC1 but TC2 is more likely.
I think the BBC will land the last interview and that will be July 21st, when the last two candidates are announced.
Guessing Channel4 will be happy to skip debates, and wheel out the Andrew Neil interviews after the first rounds

Ha, one of those strange moments when somebody you personally know goes viral and pops up in an unexpected place!
Last time around Channel 4 had the early debate followed by BBC this was when the field was down to 6 candidates. I should imagine we will be down to a similar number by Sunday.

Last time Sky would have had a Johson / Hunt debate but Johnson declined to attend so it didn't happen. They did however both appear on ITV and then the BBC followed a couple of days later with the one-to-one interviews with Andrew Neil.

The BBC also planned a Question Time special with Johnson and Hunt but it didn't end up happening.
There was also a debate on Talk radio after the ITV one, moderated by Tom Newton Dunn. It'll be interesting to see if Talk TV plans something similar.
Tuned into BBC World to find Beth Rigby interviewing Sir Graham Brady on College Green! He then walked off and met Ros Atkins, where he was then interviewed by Ros only.

I presume I cut into a pooled interview of sorts?
