The use of the BBC News music on the promo would suggest they’re probably not going to be getting rid of it in the forthcoming rebrand.
There's some insanely good quality footage of the BBC Three launch here too.
That's an interesting clip as it was says it done for internal use and not broadcast, to show executives an example of typical presentation on screen - presumably the reason it survives today. The rather nervous weatherman stuttering over his script (a real weatherman or just a random staff member filling in?) is amusing.
The boxing match and play mentioned by the announcer are both real and took place in August 1956, although on different days - though despite what the announcer states (presumably as a joke) former US president Harry Truman was not involved in it.

I get the last one, but clearly the man who reviewed the Bat's Wings has some very bizarre ideas on the world of kink. :o

-Estd 1997-
That page says that the first Comic Relief was in 1991, which isn't true- that was the third red nose day, there'd been previous ones in 1988 and 89. Plus 86 if you count the pre-recorded theatre show that went out that year.
The 100 pages are interesting to say the least.
They use the upcoming logo for BBC 3 (which hasn't even debuted on screen yet!) instead of the logo for 2003 when it launched.
Programme description text for some shows have grammatical, spelling or factual errors and for one show it states information that comes across as replying to a viewer complaint rather than give information about the show.
Also, apparently nothing of note happened in 2014 apart form one TV show I've never heard of being the big comedy hit that made it stand out from all other BBC content that year. Fair enough...

I hope we get to see the BBC Coat of Arms used in some form or another.
