Our list is...
Mrs browns boys BBC ...just past it's best , unfunny now , strained sitcom and the Halloween special was so bad! Time for it to go!
MasterChef BBC ...(no one will agree lol!!) but it's over used , too many series each year , takes up too much primetime not giving other shows a slot etc, just too over used why not just one series per year! News if Xmas specials to ! Give it a rest!!!!
Changing rooms reboot c4...just bad version of a good show. Wrong host, same designers every episode , lacking charm or fun of original!
Royal documentaries itv, BBC ...time to give them a rest , low ratings for many, they've covered every aspect...leave the royals alone for awhile please!
Moneyball itv..poor format even looks bad for daytime format poor!
Sitting fortune itv...not as bad as money ball but seems better fit in daytime! Maybe alternative to the chase in summer with smaller cash winnings etc!
Masked dancer itv...just not needed seemed poor filler for Britains got talent gap keep to the singers!
Complaints dept c4...bad unfunny show would have actually been better a more serious points of view type series on peoples views . Just unfunny bad filler feel!
Have I got news for you BBC...past it's best same every episode few stand out laughs now time for a long rest or moved back to BBC two!
Silent witness BBC...now in series 89 or something ..time for a resting! Same stories same drama taking up same slots yearly . Give new drama a weeknight slot stop relying on Sunday night 9pm only and MasterChef to fill the year BBC!
Who do you think you are BBC... Now going very zlist celebrities scraping barrel dry time to stop! So few episodes this series been good! Time for long rest!
Murder island c4...what sounded a good idea just poor bore of a show...what could have been type feel wasted in drawn out forgettable series .

The problem is if that stuff doesn't come back next year/series/season, all that it will be filled with are more repeats of DIY SOS/You've Been Framed/Come Dine With Me.
Anyway I'm not sure there is much mileage in saying whether this that and the other should or should not come back, because as per Sturgeon's law, 90% of everything is crap anyway, and that includes TV schedules. So there are only 2.4hrs of "good" on TV.

Agree on Masterchef - it won't be axed but it seems to be forever on in some guise or another, and just thrown around the schedule from week to week as well. However it isn't deserving of the axe - just a programme I'm not a fan of. It certainly doesn't warrant three Christmas specials.
I guess Dulux rather than C4 will make the call on Changing Rooms but from what I saw (mainly through Gogglebox) it was very weak.
Both new ITV gameshows this autumn have been terrible IMO and are not worth the recommission. Disagree with The Masked Dancer though - it did enough to warrant a second run IMO and could potentially fill a weekly slot in June/July with no World Cup next summer.
Similarly I think Complaints Welcome is worth another run now it's had a series to find it's feet - again better to stick with something which can be developed than start again from scratch.
Although I agree with your comments on HIGNFY and Silent Witness they're not going to get axed. Personally I would rather see Silent Witness go so the money can be invested into new drama but I suspect it is largely funded through international sales anyway. Ditto Death in Paradise.

It's the old 'I don't like it so it should be axed' surely if a programme is rating well then it should kept.

Definitely the schedule for over used MasterChef is so irrational shoved in here and there makes it look like a messy schedule with bad filler sandwich some nights!
Just too many versions and if add up weeks per year it covers in primetime definitely could be cut down , apprentice had a rest due to covid MasterChef should rest to!
Forgot about death in paradise another be ending drama etc...just wish more space for new shows given opportunity.

Hmmm, I agree HIGNFY is tired, but it seems most of the Beeb's panel shows are at the moment- the same jokes repeat from show to show, just delivered by a different person. But it doesn't feel like it's a different person all the time either, because these panel shows cycle through the same old faces in rotation- surely the circuit is broad enough for a wider range of comedians to get exposure?
UK Masterchef is boring- I've lived in the states and watched that version, and it's so much better-formatted. Lots of faux drama but that's just American TV for you. I wonder would Gordon Ramsay freshen up Masterchef if he were to do it in the UK?
Changing Rooms I never liked- I didn't get the appeal then and still don't now- it was such a random show to bring back. C4 revivals never last too long though anyway. Streetmate with Scarlett Moffatt lasted, what, 3 weeks? And I thought she was more natural at that particular format than Davina.
Moneyball and Sitting on a Fortune are terrible formats, with stunt-casted hosts to try to draw the viewers in- trouble is the dull formats. Shame as Lineker in particular is very natural as host, just let down by his format that I call Row Row Row Your Boat.
I liked the Masked Dancer but I think they should have it be occasional one-off specials rather than a full series.
Royal documentaries bore the life out of me- I have respect for our monarchy and everything, I personally wouldn't want it abolished, but whenever they do a documentary, it's never actually very interesting...
I like the Complaints Department show, but I feel it's a little too youth-orientated- perhaps that's the idea though? To get younger viewers interested in Points of View/Right To Reply type shows by giving them a comedy spin?
Who Do You Think You Are is fine- I love genealogy if I've spelled that right- if I was famous face, I'd do it in a heartbeat- I feel there's a lot of my family I haven't learnt enough about. And yes, Silent Witness has dragged on for too long now- the early series were great but now it's just a load of recycled storylines- it feels too much like a soap than an eventful period drama.
And I've never watched Murder Island so can't comment- is it a drama thing or reality?
I think Strictly Come Dancing shouldn't return next year, neither should The Apprentice, neither should I'm a Celebrity and Britain's Got Talent, and neither should Doctor Who, I know that Doctor Who is but I wish it wasn't and was axed instead, all of these shows had a good run for those who enjoyed it but it's time to move on.

I'm pretty sure your TV remote control will have a symbol that complies with IEC 60417-5009. You could make use of it and then you would not need to visually digest these concoctions.

You can add The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea to this list. I’m baffled that they’re still going. It’s just a bunch of people in their early - mid 20’s moaning about who they don’t like and who they’ve slept with.
Unpopular opinion but I’m a Celeb can be added to the list as well. Not been my cup of tea since the beginning but it’s a show that is slowly reaching it’s sell by date to me.

I didn't know there's a rule that a show has to be cancelled regardless of how popular it is once it's been on for a certain amount of time. Guess Bargain Hunt and Homes Under the Hammer are screwed as well...

Notice Homes Under the Hammer has now been bumped to 11.15 after years in a 10am slot. Not sure if it's impacted ratings at all but like with Flog It it's a show they could axe and still air for a few years with nobody really noticing.
I think the more effective way to look at this isn't what shows should be axed but what points in the schedule need freshening up. ITV for example seems to have a solid daytime line up but 2-3pm seems to be a bit of a weak point. Perhaps Dickenson's Real Deal does really well but it just feels like something that is thrown out there when they haven't got anything else. Judge Rinder hasn't had any post-covid episodes either.

Realistically if shows only have a finite lifespan on the TV then Coronation Street has been dead show walking since about 1967.
