A wonderful actor who delivered funny lines with such ease on Only Fools & Horses. RIP John.

Such a terrible day for famous deaths. First Jimmy Greaves and now this.
Only Fools and Horses was such a big part of my childhood with watching repeats of the old episodes and some of the Christmas specials. A real shame, especially since we're not that far removed from the 40th anniversary of the show. The very least the BBC could do is show either a classic episode of Only Fools or The Green Green Grass as way of tribute. RIP John "Boycie" Challis. Another legend taken from us far too soon.

Not sure if Only Fools will get a repeat this week since there’s no available slots due to the Chelsea Flower Show plus IIRC it’s not cheap to repeat.

Such a sad loss. I've been watching repeats of Only Fools and Horses since I was little and even though The Green Green Grass was something I started watching more recently, it's a testement to John Challis that he could carry his own show off the success of OFAH. He was also great as Scorby in the 1976 Doctor Who serial 'The Seeds of Doom'.
RIP.

I wonder if the 2016 Are You Being Served? might work as a tribute since it was one of John Challis' last major roles and it's relatively recent and probably cheaper to repeat than Only Fools and Horses.

I don't think we'd be discussing the price of showing an episode of OFAH if it was one of the main leads who passed away.
