Hi everyone, so this thread will be about newscasts with presentation (graphics, music) being ripped off or copied (i.e. not licensed) from another (mostly bigger) broadcasters in another country.

I know that most of you out there probably knew about them using American networks' promo campaigns, but this one doesn't come up often when we're talking about this subject. Even the theme is a clone of Edd Kalehoff's masterpiece.

Georgian television (specially Imedi TV) have a long history of ripping off branding styles from other European broadcasters. For example, this is the former intro of Imedi's main news, Qronika 8 Saatze (8 O'Clock Chronicle), ripping off both the idents of Sky Atlantic and the TOTH of Sky News into something like this:

This opening compilation features a lot of knockoffs, from ABC News (Australia) 2005, to even a poorly-imitated Sky-BBC mix of graphics and music (even a BBC-like countdown):

Even the First Channel has fallen out in favour of plagiarism: in 2013 they knocked off the VTM Nieuws 2012 look from Gédéon and Jago Design. This also includes a even poorer imitation by the ERT shortly after they relaunched.

Do we know for sure that it's a knock-off? When comparing the two, it seems more likely to me that it was either a stock template that both of them used, or there was an agreement between the two broadcasters. I'm willing to be proved wrong, but it looks a bit too good to be knocked-off.

Also around 2015, was I the only one who when visiting BDA Creative / Jago Design and Lightwell Visualisation's websites. Kind of fascinated by how many projects were just a "Command+C" then just "Command+V" when a new client came along.

ITV Regions 2004, they even used to use the ITV News music of the era at one point.

I remember the director of one of their bulletins putting a clip on YouTube about 14 years ago and him refusing to accept it was a copy until some ITV regional news clips from 2004 were uploaded (remember replying with videos?). He eventually conceded and the ITV news music was dropped and the end boards altered.

They had the 4 squares over the map and '9 Local News' in the same font.

ITV Regions 2004, they even used to use the ITV News music of the era.

How long have they used it for? Looks really old in 2021.
