Farewell...
As so many others have put in so many ways, I'd also like to thank Rob for helping continue the conversation, even if that was cut short. The reasons behind the end might not have been great, but I hope that, in time, he can look back fondly on the forum.

I hope to join one of the new forums, but I'm only going to do so when one has become the clear favourite among the community (I just don't have the time, nor could I be arsed, with having the save conversation twice). My decision will probably also be influenced by where the members that most interest me post, which has the best overall vibe and moderation policy (no politics, etc.) and which has a hierarchy based on ability to replicate news sets in outdated 3D modelling software.

Until then, you'll be free of me - which I know some will be glad of, particularly those who feel that the merged BBC News channel should feature lengthy discussions of British weather in Delhi primetime.
Good morning all.

Thank you Rob and wish you all the best for the future, and good luck with your health.
I just wanted to also send what will almost certainly be my last post here.

First, thanks so much to @Rob for providing continuity from TVF. I joined there late, only about a year before it closed, but came here immediately. I wouldn't exactly call myself a Pres Geek, I don't really have any interest in mocks, but what I am interested in is the design of branding packages, studio design, and the technicals and logistics of TV production. Both TVF and TVLF provided a place where I could both learn from and educate others on this subject.

Second, to the haters, fuck you.

Third, I am planning to launch my own forum - preschat.com - in the coming weeks. There is nothing there at the moment but keep your eyes on it for registration and discussion. I need a few weeks to consider how to run it and what it will look like, as well as to build and design it. The most important thing to me is getting the community right so I need some time to fully think through the best way forward. Depending on how PresCafe and TVTalkForum pan out, the whole thing may be abandoned.

Cheers again for all the discussion and thought provoking posts. And I hope I never have to explain again why CBeebies and CBBC channels merging would never work.

"BBC TV Tech Op"
After 700 posts, thats’s just about it from me. Thanks to Rob for creating a natural successor forum when the doors were closed on the blue place, obviously a shame that it’s ended so soon.

In terms of longevity, if TV Forum was GMTV, here could be described as Daybreak. it feels that we now don’t have a GMB, we have a Breakfast and a Sunrise. I’ve signed up to both, we will see what happens.
It's sad to see this day come. This place, alongside TV Forum have always been great places for debate amongst pres fans along with the expertise you can gleen from those working behind the scenes in the know who post on here, I don't think that can be matched in one single other place on the internet (at the moment!).

I've also enjoyed being a mod too, despite the abuse you can get privately. That's the bit which is the most difficult to deal with. Rob deserves huge credit for the work he's put into the site/forum and also a thank you for his support and the other mods when I joined the team just over a year ago. The work that goes on backstage into moderating the site, checking in several times a day and making sure its a safe place for all is quite an effort!

So, this will likely be one of my last posts on the forum, I might pop up somewhere else in the future but for now, from 'mismatched Barco screens, BBC News Channel presenters should stand up' (the latter happened...eventually  Big Grin ) Worzel, it's thank you... and good night!

Here's David Lowe to play us out...

I thought this was closing at 6PM tonight so I thought I had until noon to post. Rob and company you did a good job with the forum. I’d like to welcome people over to https://forums.tvnewstalk.net your first few posts are moderated and we have a very active discover chat. All are welcome.
<t>Never let anyone treat you like a VO/SOT. You are a PKG.</t>
I've kept saying it, but this will be my last post on TVLF.

From occasionally browsing TV Forum without an account in its final year, to posting a few messages and constantly lurking on TV Live Forum, I have enjoyed (nearly) all of it. I will continue with the same name on the new forums, but the fact that this community is splitting up between forums means that TV presentation discussion will never be the same again.

I'd like to thank Rob, the moderators, the verified, the casual, and the lurkers too for what they've done. Everybody has had a part to play in this. Whether you're pretty new like me, or have been here for over 20 years, thank you for everything. And to those who cost us this valuable, welcoming and entertaining site, shame on you.

This is Quantum, logging off of TVLF for the final time.

Adios. Angel
The time has come...

Before I say farewell, I would like to say that I have enjoyed contributing to the forum and viewing all the threads. I would personally like to thank Rob and all of the moderators for running a fantabulous succesor to TVF. And I'd just like say to all the people who pushed Rob to this decision, I hope karma treats you well. I would like to say that I respect Rob's choice, coming from someone who does suffer with mental health problems, it's so important to put your mental health first.

I will still be on TV Talk and the new Pres Cafe, but until we meet again...

Goodbye.
Well, there's not much I can add on this sad day. It's a real shame that Rob has faced such abuse after running this forum so well. I'll miss all of the regular posters who I've come to 'know', or at least recognise, in a weird sort of way, and hopefully the momentum will pick up somewhere else;  it will be nice when (if?!) we get back to some sort of normality and we can continue to indulge ourselves in some of the most niche discussions on the internet!
I only really got interested in this all in the lifespan of TVLF, so I'd like to thank everyone involved by inadvertently teaching me lots of what I know now. Good luck to you all in the future!
Thanks for everything Rob and sorry that you have had to make the decision to close this site. Take care of yourself.
As we enter the last 90 minutes of the site, I'll take my leave.

Thank you once again for the kindness you've shown me, and I'll see you all at some point along the way.

All the very best to you.
I'm on Andover Radio every Saturday afternoon from 4pm-6pm. Follow me on Twitter.

Thanks for the conversation gang.

I’ve suffered with some big life changes and mental health issues over the last 2 years & having a community like this to just read, let alone reply to is a massive help. I’m just sorry it’s effected Rob in the opposite way.

I just click onto the site from my bookmarks by default, same spot TVF had. Wasting far too much time browsing some days! I guess I’ll have to decide which site replaces that spot….
I only made a few posts and read very few threads, but I would like to say thank you to Rob for putting in the effort and money into running this forum for those of us who participated little (like me) or others who participated lots.
This is probably my last post here.

Again, a big "Thank you" to Rob and all the mods for keeping this place a warm, friendly place to share our niche passions to TV.

We've heard about the bad news of what managing this place did to Rob's mental health, plus all the uncertainty surrounding the new successors, over this week. But, as this place is dimming out its light, let's all remember the great memories we had, and the not-too-great debates on if CBBC can be merged with CBeebies, over the past 18 months instead.

From Hong Kong, this is W. Knight, signing off. Goodbye to all that.

Now on TVTalk, Pres Café and DeviantArt. Goodbye to all that, TVLF.
