Farewell...
Really is sad to see some people setting up obvious trolling accounts at at least one of these new places clearly with the intention of continuing their online harassment campaign. Hopefully the relevant admins can keep on top of it but they just shouldn't have too.

I won't draw attention to the specifics, because frankly they're not worth the attention, but I've clocked at least one of those, too. Mind you, the account hadn't actually been authorised at the time I saw it.
Sadly it's inevitable, these people aren't ever going to stop. Hopefully it's kept under control enough that it doesn't cause the demise of more forums.
I would like to assure members, that on my forum any troll accounts will be swiftly dealt with. For example, when I saw there was an account named 'Rob' I put it under moderation until I confirmed if it was Rob or not.

"He who shall not be named", or at least an account under his name is currently active on TV Talk.

I am aware of this, a particular famous TV Chef, there have been objections because of potential other incidents (don't need to go into detail) from other members of the team not to ban him. But his account is being permanently moderated and any incident, he's banned.

Same although I don't think it may have been the best idea. Some forums are already gone or out of the race to be the next TV Live Forum.

For the aforementioned reasons a lot of people will want to protect their name.  Otherwise nothing stopping anyone from registering as someone else and wreaking havoc.
I don't particularly appreciate the pestering private messages trying to get me to join TV Talk.

A message has been sent to the individual concerned. Please DO NOT use the PM system to pester users.

I spend far too much time on here so it's a good opportunity to do something more constructive. I use other usernames on Twitter, Reddit and DS so feel free to say hi if you ever work out who I am there!

I glimpsed you the the other day on Platform 14 at Waterloo, dealing with a spillage of waste water from the 16:45 to Portsmouth Harbour (via Guildford)

I was on Platform 15, I called out but you didn't hear me.
The banner at the top of the page has been changed and honestly, I think it looks really good.

Hi all...

Obviously with this site now closing earlier than originally announced, we had to accelerate our plans considerably. This meant our original transition plan went out of the window as there was no longer time to do a number of things we wanted to do. There was also insufficient time for us to effectively discuss our proposed alternative nor for a clear replacement to be named successor, or to gauge where most of us would end up.

Therefore, I am pleased to say that we have managed to message the most recent users with a short courteous message. For the very small number of you that took umbrage to getting a PM from us, we wholeheartedly apologise - we were just making sure you had the direct link to get bookmarked.

Whether you end up with us (https://www.tvtalkforum.co.uk) or at the Pres.Cafe, as long as there is civilised and friendly discussion - we look forward to both!

We obviously thank Rob for his efforts and wish him the best for the future.

This will be my final post here, farewell TV Live Forum.

Looking forward to seeing you on the other side.

Kind regards

Chris

As I suggested in my previous post, I don’t reckon I’ll be signing up to any of (numerous) future spaces. I’m quite sure I won’t be missed!

Thanks, Rob and others who have made the past 21 years possible.
