Pres Café (Clean Feed/TV Pres group)

TV **and radio** forum. Interesting it's going to target the best of both worlds.

The thing that puts me off is the attitude of Clean Feed both on its Twitter feed and its blog. Very arrogant, and without any warmth or humour. It's worse than Transdiffusion, but at least that has some really interesting unique articles

The reputation of sites like this and DS in the TV industry is bad enough, Clean Feed with it's constant pedantic hectoring drags down the reputation of us TV enthusiasts even further.

I hope I'm pleasantly surprised, but at the moment I'm not keen

OK, let's end this now.

I know the reason why I was blocked by the TV Room. It's most likely because I set up a site called "On The Telly" which aimed to do the opposite of what Clean Feed does, in that it was going to be good humoured in tone, compared to the rather agressive and critical tone of CF. I have also criticised some of the things CF has done in the past, so if that's the reason I was blocked, then I deserved it.

As I have said before, I have no ill feelings towards them setting up their own forum, in fact I had a very funny feeling they would when I made the decision to finish things here, and I wish them nothing but the very best of luck.

Now, can we PLEASE cut the negativity?

Thanks.

For what it's worth, I've decided to join both the new Clean Feed forum *and* TV Talk Forum. I'm enough of a geek that I can stretch to two, and it gives me a better chance of keeping up with folks after they leave here.

I hope it doesn't succeed. The pres community has proven itself time and again to be too immature, too stupid and too childish to be trusted to have a space of their own to discuss inanities. Let the whole concept of a "tv forum" burn and die, and let us dance in the ashes.

I have joined Pres Cafe as Rob Francis. There appears to be a "Rob" already registered - that is NOT me.

I don't think that's fair, it's only a very small number of people who have caused the problems... and hopefully they'll be kept off this new forum.

If they don't have a weekly chart of the most upvoted posts called the Pres Café UK Top 40, I'll be very upset.

"ICQ number" option in the profile options, is it still 1999? Wink

This forum seems to be more tightly focussed than here, although that may just be the aim not the reality

I.e it’s all about ‘presentation’ - Reminiscing about Noel’s House Party doesn’t seem to have a place

Considering the forums aren't available to view yet, even if registered, and we don't know what forums there will be and what discussion will be allowed, I'm not sure how you can make that assumption yet.

Once you register, you can see four subforums: TV News/Sport Branding and Presentation, Radio Branding and Presentation, Broadcasters' Online Branding and Presentation, and Industry News and Technology.

ICQ does still exist, but AOL sold it to VK, which is Russian, 12 years ago. I wouldn't recommend using it now, but it's not obsolete.

Does that mean there is no space for discussion of TV programmes themselves. Just pres?

That's something that I thought Rob integrated really well here.

I registered and I can't see any subforums.
