Farewell...
Disappointing to say the least that you have been forced into this situation, Rob, but understandable that you are taking the action that you are. Thanks for everything to you and the mod team.

Well done to the trolls for proving that we really can't have nice things.
Write that down in your copybook now
Dear Rob

With sincere thanks for picking up the one and only Forum that I follow. I am so stunned that people do such terrible things to people who do nice things, especially here! I know how important mental health is, I am reminded every day on Twitter and the reasons why I block certain key words and people. You come first.

I shall miss dropping in here to find out bits of knowledge and information. I hope that if someone takes on the challenge they immediately delete the numpties who have no place in an otherwise friendly and supportive world that we inhabit.

Best wishes, take good care.
Thanks for everything Rob, I've passed my comments to you privately, but here Ill just say - thanks and good luck! People should behave like civilised humans!

I've had my team rustling this up for the past day or so... https://www.boxforum.co.uk/

It is not finished, but it is open and users are asked to give it a try and provide feedback.
We haven't seen any other firm alternatives so wanted to throw our hats in the ring.

I’m bloody gutted the forum is coming to an end. Well done Rob for everything you’ve done to foster this place over the past year and a bit, I’ve come here pretty much daily and have loved following and discussing the BBC rebrand, Oneness, Studio E, TalkTV, GB News and plenty of other topics. My time spent on here is 2 Days, 18 Hours, 18 Minutes apparently and I’ve enjoyed every second. Will miss it!

All the best for the future Rob!

Very nice, and sort of solid! Looks similar to the current TV Live Forum theme, good job!
Sad to see the forum close down, especially so soon, but I can completely understand the reasoning behind the decision.

I really do hope that we find a new home somewhere for us to come together and continue the legacy of both TV Forum and TV Live Forum.

And on that note, I wonder if Reddit would be a good option? I realise it's not the perfect answer as we'd need multiple subreddits to replace the sub-forums we have here, but they're a lot easier to run (especially technically) and have the advantage of having the site wide mods and admins for when that's needed. It also has the advantage of allowing admins to come and go without having to set up a whole new platform each time.

For those discussing Discord, I vote against it. Discord is a great platform, but it is very much more of an instant messenger. I find threads of converstation hard to follow on it as they inevitably end up getting mixed within several other threads of conversation.

If we do go down the traditional forum route, I'm wondering if it be better having a small group of people come together to run the new forum instead of having one person bear all the responsibility?
Just to clarify my position on a few things...

1. I am not selling the forum, nor do I wish to pass the forum in any way onto somebody else. I haven't got the time or energy to hand the forum over to anyone else.

2. I will not be endorsing any particular forum at this time.

3. I will not be joining any of the new forums.

To those who have messaged me here today, thank you. I will reply in due course.

Hi I’ve just tried to register on this, this could be me but when trying to register is come up with that I haven’t filled I. Which BBC region field

However there isn’t an option when registering, it might be because it’s not fully set up, or I’m being blind ?
Rob, to be honest with you; you could just leave the forum in the hands of the mods.

It's sad that this forum's closing so soon.
Can you squeeze in one last logo change before it closes the weekend? ?

It’s not just you, I have had the exact same issue.

Reddit's actually not that bad an idea. Within each subreddits the threads and posts are structured similarly, but the way that threads are displayed and are ordered is a bit different. I don't think you'd get long term threads such as Breakdown Appreciation etc. as they don't rise to the top when someone posts in it, the ordering is 'New, Best, Hot, controversial'. That's not a problem really it's just a new way of working to get used to

It would save a lot of work as all the hard work is done

Isn’t the current logo just paying tribute to Neighbours?

Should be all sorted now
