I think if your instinctive human reaction to someone collapsing in front of you apparently out of nowhere when you have no clue what is wrong with them is to *laugh* then it says quite a lot about you as a human.

I thought Truss’s reaction was exactly what most people would do, and the fact she moved to try and help knowing the cameras were still live and not knowing exactly what happened was commendable.

I thought Truss's reaction was perfectly understandable, from the sound it sounded like the podium might have fallen over aswell so that could have been an element of her shock.

Quite. On the footage it’s a really loud crash - that alone would be enough to make you jump. 

It’s also hard to even imagine how stressful these debates are - having to have all sorts of figures and arguments in your head, so something like that would understandably shock you when you are so in the zone.

It's also worth noting that the politicians work a lot with the likes of Kate McCann, so it's not a surprise to see Liz Truss who I'm sure is personable with Kate checking on her.

Not true - they went back to Talk Radio after about 14 minutes of slates and trails. The hosts mentioned it right at the start and multiple further times during the rest of the hour, which only had about 15 minutes left at that point.

Apparently it's been trailed to death on TimesRadio all day.

And Virgin too. Lots of mention of it bieng a SHOWDOWN, which is ironic seeing as today's debate was far more civil than the BBC's yesterday.

The incident showed up another issue with doing a simulcast. Whereas the TV viewers saw Liz Truss's reaction and a slide,radio listeners heard a loud noise and then silence for a few minutes

I have also NEVER found people falling over funny. I know others do, but I find it horrible. To find someone's shocked reaction to someone fainting funny is truly bizarre.
