Well, following others, I have registered under the same name for TV Talk. This looks like a promising successor to TVLF, as much as I will miss this place.

Sorry to hear the forum is closing. Having run forums in the past, I can appreciate the complexity of trying to keep everyone happy - you can never win!

It is unfortunate that the minority spoil it for the majority but that is life. I'm sure that the questionable posts that I've seen are inevitably the tip of the iceberg of the issues experienced by Rob and the team.

It would be a shame for the conversation to end here but given that this is now the second forum to end in pretty much the same way, this may be it. Perhaps the solution is to move away from a forum and try and share the content and conversation in a different way - any suggestions? I wondered about Reddit but have limited experience with it.

Sorry to hear this Rob it’s been a fantastic successor to tv forum, it’s always a shame when the minority ruin it and it’s not fair and it’s affected you mentally, so truely understandable you are closing the forum down, but thanks again for taking it on in the first place from the blue place, all the best to you in the future.

Discord is pretty much someone setting up a server with areas they choose and rules they choose alongside obviously Discord rules.

Well, here it is. My new forum TV Talk.
If member don't mind for now just starting discussion anywhere, so I can test everything out before the proper launch when TVLF closes. As I have also previously mentioned, the site currently runs off Wix but I hope soon to be able to move it onto a proper forum software.

Discord is the platform used by presentation content creators on YouTube. Having first hand experience on the platform, it is easy to navigate. However, it would appear cluttered and make it harder to navigate threads.

In my opinion, traditional forum software should remain as the solution.

Sorry if I am a bit late but I really want to say a big thanks to Rob for taking on the huge roll of running a forum of this scale. I will be really sad to see this forum go because I don’t think a day has gone by that I have not went on to the forum. As much as I will miss the forum I absolutely 100% understand that people’s mental health comes before anything. I hope karma gets those idiots. But that’s enough of that. I hope we all will have somewhere to go to next as the next chapter of discussing television presentation is about to begin (fingers crossed). I didn’t have an account on the “blue place” although I was always looking at it loads so when TVLF launched I made an account because I wanted to be apart of this community. But overall a big thanks to Rob, the moderators and everyone on this forum who has given me something to read. It has been a pleasure.

Question: Is their going to be a countdown or something similar in the last few moments of the forum?

I am even more sorry that you have had to suffer this abuse Rob, and want to say that I know all of us appreciate you creating this site and giving us the platform to continue our special little discussions. I know that Discord has its own thread feature now which makes it easier for people to discuss topics but they do archive after a day or so (although they can be unarchived at any point). It's just a case of if enough people would be on it for it to be worthwhile.

I tried running a Discourse for TV Live a few years back, but I could never get my head around it. Maybe it's more of a young person's thing...
